Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure employed to treat specific types of hydrocephalus (excess cerebrospinal fluid in the brain) by creating a new pathway for cerebrospinal fluid drainage. A surgeon uses an endoscope to make a small hole in the floor of the third ventricle, allowing cerebrospinal fluid to flow to a different area where it can be reabsorbed by the body. It is often considered a physiological alternative to a shunt, as it does not involve the use of a foreign object.

Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumors (DNETs) are slow-growing, non-cancerous brain lesions mainly affecting children and young adults. Characterized by low-grade glioneuronal elements and rarity (less than 1-2% of brain tumors), DNETs typically occur in the supratentorial region, primarily the temporal or frontal lobe. Symptoms often involve intractable seizures and cognitive, motor, and sensory impairments. Diagnosis combines thorough neurological evaluation and imaging studies. Treatment involves surgical excision, offering a favorable prognosis, with complete removal crucial for optimal seizure control and improved patient outcomes. This 14 year old boy was operated 2 week back and discharged without any deficit.

Transnasal Transsphenoidal surgery is the most common procedure for removing a tumor of the pituitary gland. Rather than opening up the skull in a traditional craniotomy, the neurosurgeon reaches the tumor through the nasal passages and the sphenoid sinus. The endoscope is negotiated through the nostril and alongside the nasal septum to access a pituitary tumor.

A low-grade glioma (LGG), commonly diagnosed in adolescents, is a brain tumor type that can cause seizures unresponsive to antiepileptic drugs, with surgery offering a viable treatment option. Symptoms typically manifest as headaches, with additional manifestations contingent upon tumor location. Treatment plans may incorporate surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or a combination of these methods. A 22-year-old female successfully underwent surgery for a left temporal lobe LGG.

Drowsiness
Headache
Imbalance

Uncoordinated walk (ataxia)
Vomiting
Most tumors of the posterior fossa are removed with surgery

Olfactory groove Meningiomas (OGMs) are rare, benign, and slow-growing tumors that affect the anterior cranial fossa of the brain. They are typically non-cancerous and make up about 10% of all rmeningiomas. OGMs grow along the olfactory nerve, which is responsible for the sense of smell, and can cause loss of smell and vision problems if they grow large enough.
OGMs does not produce symptoms in the early stage, so they usually attain large size by the time they are diagnosed. Symptoms include:Loss of smell and taste, Blurred vision, Memory loss, Headaches, Fatigue, Nausea and vomi ting, Personality changes .
