Dr Keshav Kumar of Maa Ganga Child Care Hospital is no longer among us.
It’s a sad incident that he passed away so young.
His too earlier nd untimely demise is a great loss for the society,,May God grant peace to his soul..strength to his family n friends during this extremely difficult painful time.

Recently, many things related to cough syrups, especially many unfortunate deaths among children,,have been reported in the news…

The government hastily arrested Dr. Praveen Soni...It's as if the doctor himself went to the manufacturing unit and secretly mixed a toxic substance called diethylene glycol into the medicine and then gave permission to administer it to his patients... How ridiculous...

Actually, there is no such thing as drug regulation in our country...
The government imposes various restrictions on doctors, but anyone can buy any medicine from any pharmacy; there is no regulatory authority over it...
Doctors are often made scapegoats “bali ka bakra”in this context... While the pharmaceutical companies, quacks, nd others get away scot-free...
So next time, before getting treatment from a pharmacy or a quack, think about your children...

घायल तो यहाँ हर एक परिंदा है..
मगर फिर से जो उड़ सका वही ज़िंदा है..

Being a doctor is not just about treating patients—it’s about constantly learning..
Medicine never stands still,new research, therapies, nd guidelines appear every day.....
That’s why a doctor’s life is always surrounded by studies,,& for a dr like me, both Ayurveda nd modern medical science are a subject of study —whether it’s late-night journal reading, attending CME sessions..
Yes, it can be exhausting...Long hours of work followed by long hours of study…But within that effort lies the essence of medicine…The joy is in knowing that with each bit of learning, we are better equipped to serve and heal..
Last weekend addressing two CME back to back.one is for the clinical evaluation of AZITHROMYCIN in URTI in children nd other is How protein supplements can influence growth in children....
In the end, an academic weekend may be tiring, but it is also deeply rewarding…After all, medicine never pauses, & neither should learning…

ORS.....THE WONDER MEDICINE..
डॉ दिलीप महालनोबीस.....
शर्तिया कह सकता हूं आप में से अधिकतर इनका नाम नहीं जानते होंगे. पर इन्होंने ही सबसे पहले ORS का सामूहिक पैमाने पर इस्तेमाल किया था बांग्लादेशी शरणार्थी कैंप में..
1971 में लाखों शरणार्थी सीमा पर आ गए..वहाँ शरणार्थी कैंपों में हैजा और डायरिया का भयंकर प्रकोप फैला...
हजारों लोग डिहाइड्रेशन (पानी की कमी) से मर रहे थे....उस समय IV fluids ही डायरिया का इलाज माना जाता था....
लेकिन शरणार्थी कैंपों में IV fluids की भारी कमी थी....ORS की मदद से हज़ारों लोगों की जान बची....
यह दुनिया का पहला mass scale trial of ORS था और बेहद सफल रहा....
WHO और UNICEF ने तुरंत इसे अपनाया और ग्लोबली प्रमोट किया....
यह चिकित्सा के इतिहास मे एक क्रांति का सूचक था..
ORS को WHO ने “20वीं सदी का सबसे बड़ा चिकित्सकीय आविष्कार” माना है, और इसका श्रेय सबसे ज़्यादा डॉ. महालनोबिस को ही दिया गया... WHO के एक अनुमानित स्टडी के अनुसार अभी तक ORS से लगभग 5 करोड़ बच्चों की जान बची है.....
दुख की बात ये है कि 1971 में और उसके बाद भी लाखों जान बचाने वाले डॉ.महालनोबिस को पिछले साल मरणोपरांत पद्मविभूषण मिला.....
स्वस्थ रहें...अपने बच्चों को भी स्वस्थ रखे...

हमारे लिए शर्म की बात है कि डायरिया अभी भी हमारे बच्चों के लिए सबसे ज्यादा मौत का कारण बनती है…
लगभग हर साल एक लाख से ज्यादा बच्चे डायरिया से अपना पांचवा जन्मदिन तक नहीं बना पाते हैं…
डायरिया से मौत का प्रमुख कारण है डिहाईड्रेशन यानी शरीर में पानी की कमी होना... अधिकतर मरीज़ डॉक्टर तक देर से पहुंचते हैं या पेरेंट्स डिहाईड्रेशन पहचान नहीं पाते…शर्म की बात यह है कि पूरे भारतवर्ष में सबसे ज्यादा डायरिया के
मरीज नॉर्थईस्ट,,बिहार में ही होते हैं…
इसका मुख्य कारण गंदा पानी, खराब शौचालय व्यवस्था, हाथ धोने की आदत की कमी..कुपोषण और एनीमिया..
गरीबी और निम्न सामाजिक-आर्थिक स्तर....
अधिकतर डायरिया के मरीज सिर्फ़ ORS से ठीक हो सकते है पर जानकारी के अभाव में बच्चे मौत के शिकार हो जाते हैं..

अगले टॉक में मैं ORS संबंधित बात करूंगा ORS की उपयोगिता.. कैसे घर पर आप ORS बना सकते हैं..कब ORS देना है कब डॉक्टर के पास जाना है ये छोटी छोटी जानकारी से आप diarrhea जैसे घातक बीमारी से अपने बच्चों को बचा सकते हैं....

IBS.... IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME...
आज के व्यस्त और स्ट्रेसफुल जीवन में irritable bowel syndrome बहुत आम बीमारी होती जा रही है...... हमारी अनियमित जीवन यापन भी इसके पीछे एक महत्वपूर्ण कारण है…हमारे खाने में अत्यधिक तेल मसाले का उपयोग अत्यधिक junk food का इस्तेमाल और स्विग्गी जोमैटो का लगभग हर एक के जीवन का अंग बन जाना इसके पीछे प्रमुख कारण है…
Irrtiable bowel syndrome का कोई स्थाई निदान नहीं है इसलिए और महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है हमें अपने जीवन शैली का सुधार करना और खान पान को नियमित करना..

CA,,कर्कटाबुर्द…कैंसर नाम सुनते ही शरीर में एक सिहरन सी दौड़ जाती है...
भारत में महिलाओं में होने वाले कैंसर में breast cancer के बाद cervical cancer का ही नाम आता है..
हर साल लगभग 1.2 से 1.3 लाख नए मामले सामने आते हैं..
हर साल लगभग 70–75 हज़ार महिलाएँ इस कैंसर से मरती हैं...
यानी विश्व में cervical cancer से होने वाली मौतों का लगभग एक-तिहाई भारत में होती हैं..अधिकतर मामले 30 से 50 वर्ष की महिलाओं में पाए जाते हैं...
ग्रामीण और गरीब इलाक़ों की महिलाएँ अधिक प्रभावित होती हैं क्योंकि जांच और उपचार की सुविधा सीमित है...
कुल मिलाकर, भारत में हर 8 मिनट में एक महिला cervical cancer के कारण मर रही है....
HPV वैक्सीन से 10 में से 7–9 मामले cervical cancer के रोके जा सकते हैं.... अगर समय पर और सही उम्र में दी जाए, तो यह लगभग पूरी तरह बचाव कर सकती है......
Cervical cancer ही एकमात्र cancer है जो कि vaccine preventable है...तो अपने pediatrician से अगली बार जरूर पूछें इस vaccine के बारे में और अपने दोस्तों को भी शेयर करें...
