Another life-changing milestone in our bariatric and metabolic surgery journey.
Today at NSMCH, Bihta, Patna, we successfully performed bariatric surgery on a 27-year-old male patient weighing 130 kg with a BMI of 38, who was struggling with Grade 3 fatty liver disease and severe shortness of breath due to obesity.
The surgery was completed smoothly in just 35 minutes with an exceptionally minimal blood loss of only 2 ml. The patient recovered very well postoperatively and is stable and comfortable.
What makes this case important is the reminder that obesity is not merely about appearance or body weight. It is a progressive disease that silently damages vital organs — affecting the liver, lungs, heart, joints, metabolism, confidence, and overall quality of life.
Timely metabolic and bariatric intervention can reverse these complications, restore health, and completely transform a patient’s future.
This also marks the 6th successful bariatric surgery performed by our team this month — reflecting growing awareness about obesity treatment, increasing patient trust, and the strength of coordinated teamwork.
Grateful to the anaesthesia team, OT staff, assistants, and every supporting hand involved in delivering safe and precise patient care.
Every surgery is not just a procedure.
It is a second chance at life.
