Grand Opening of Dialysis Unit at Dr. Prabhat Memorial Hiramati Hospital, Patna

Patna, 27th April 2024:
The grand opening of the Dialysis Unit at Dr. Prabhat Memorial Hiramati Hospital (DPMHH) was held today with great enthusiasm. The ceremony was graced by the Honorable Cabinet Minister of Tourism, Government of Bihar, Dr. Raju Singh, as the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Raju Singh emphasized the urgent need for greater health awareness, especially in today’s times when adulteration in food and beverages has led to the rise of various diseases. He highlighted that the government is running multiple schemes to promote health and wellness and stressed the importance of spreading awareness about these initiatives.

Congratulating Dr. Satish Kumar Singh, Director of DPMHH, the Minister assured that any challenges in providing free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Card and other government schemes would be promptly addressed. He also committed to ensuring timely reimbursements to hospitals under the Ayushman scheme, mentioning that currently, payments are often delayed by three months.

Dr. Satish Kumar Singh shared detailed information about the hospital’s facilities, noting that expert doctors provide affordable treatment for a wide range of illnesses, including free cancer care under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The launch of the Dialysis Unit marks a significant step in making critical care more accessible to the community.

On this occasion, Afzal Abbas, Chairman of the Shia Waqf Board, also addressed the gathering, urging the hospital management to continue focusing on affordable healthcare for the underprivileged.

Dr. Mohammad Mosheer Alam, Dialysis Unit Consultant, highlighted that due to the hospital’s superior treatment facilities, patients from not only Bihar but also Delhi and Kolkata are coming here for care. He proudly mentioned that the hospital houses a team of highly qualified doctors trained at prestigious institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU and AIIMS Delhi. The hospital offers 24-hour dialysis, ICU, and surgical services, and a majority of patients benefit from free treatment through the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The event saw active participation from notable personalities including Tabrez Alam, Mohammad Irfan, Ravindra Prakash, Dr. Shehnawaz, and the entire hospital staff, who came together to make the event a grand success.

Mosheer Alam, a committed healthcare professional and visionary in the field of nephrology, began his journey in 2000 with a Diploma in Dialysis Technology from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Inspired by a deep sense of service and rooted in values imparted by his saintly father, a respected Sufi Wali, Mosheer’s early life was defined by compassion, discipline, and a drive to make a difference.

With over 24 years of hands-on experience in kidney care, Mosheer Alam’s career spans various dimensions of nephrology healthcare:
• He started his career as a Dialysis Technologist, later becoming the CAPD Coordinator with BAXTER Healthcare, covering Bihar and Jharkhand.
• Worked with leading nephrology-based pharmaceutical companies, gaining deep insights into renal therapies, patient support, and healthcare systems.
• Served in Qatar’s healthcare sector, where he further refined his skills in dialysis management and patient care on an international platform.
• Trained as a Transplant Coordinator from the esteemed MOHAN Foundation, Chennai, contributing to organ donation awareness and ethical transplantation practices.
• Certified BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) practitioner, blending modern nephrology with holistic and integrative healing approaches.
• Worked extensively as a Nephrology Social Worker, counseling hundreds of CKD patients and their families, and advocating for early screening and preventive nephrology.

Mosheer Alam is the Founder & Director of City Dialysis Centre, located in RK Estate, Raja Bazar, Patna. Since its inauguration on 10th April 2014 by senior medical dignitaries including Dr. U.S. Rai, Dr. Mohamid Hai, and Dr. Imtiyaz Mohsin, the centre has grown into a trusted name in quality dialysis services.

Under his leadership, the centre offers:

Today, as we mark another milestone in the remarkable journey of City Dialysis Centre, we proudly look back on a decade of dedicated service, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment to kidney health.

It was on 10th April 2014 that this noble mission began—blessed and inaugurated by three stalwarts of Bihar’s medical fraternity:

and Dr. Imtiyaz Mohsin, Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist,
alongside our visionary Founder and Director, Mosheer Alam.
