लिंग का कैंसर (Pe**le Cancer) एक कम होने वाला परन्तु खतरनाक कैंसर है जिसमे लिंग का रोगग्रसित भाग हटा दिया जाता है। कुछ लोगों में यह जांघ की ग्रंथियों (inguinal lymph nodes) में भी फ़ैल चुका होता है किन्तु इसका इलाज़ करवाने की जागरूकता के अभाव में (lack of awareness) और जांघ में बड़े चीरे की जटिलताओं जैसे घाव न भरना, पानी छोड़ना इत्यादि के कारण लोग जांघ की ग्रंथियों का ऑपरेशन नहीं करवाते हैं, जिससे यह तेजी से फैलता है।
आजकल अत्याधुनिक उपचार के रूप में दूरबीन से जांघ की ग्रंथियों को निकाल दिया जाता है (Videoendoscopic inguinal lymphadenectomy - VEIL) जिससे घाव जल्दी भर जाता है। एक मरीज की दोनों तरफ की जाँघों में ग्रंथियां थी, जिसमे बाएं वाली खून की नस को जकड़े हुए थी। दोनों तरफ दूरबीन से ऑपरेशन किया गया (Bilateral VEIL) जिससे मरीज को जल्द स्वास्थ्यलाभ मिला और उसकी सारी ग्रंथियां कैंसर से मुक्त निकली जिससे उसका इलाज़ पूर्ण हो गया।

I recently participated in live operative workshop on (लिंग का टेढ़ापन) and **leimplant (लिंग प्रत्यारोपण) as an operating faculty in Ranchi by with a warm invitation by Dr Prem Kumar sir. It was an incredible experience to show a video of bovine pericardial graft in and to witness 2 pe**le implant surgeries and assist Dr Sanjay Pandey sir from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai in a surgery for peyronie's disease with bovine pericardial graft. Also met Dr Priyank Kothari, a good friend from Mumbai.

The Youth organization of Urological Society of India - YoU USI has been created to foster the development of young urologists.
I’m thrilled to share that being a council member of , I helped in organising and participated in the 5th YoUth conclave at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital Nadiad, where it was an incredible experience to talk about the vision carts used in which was very well received especially among the young colleagues.
I am grateful to have received an award for winning 🥇 best paper in practice changing publications session in 4th YoUth conclave 2023 held at .
I also presented another paper on stone surgery in children in this year’s practice changing publications session for which I again won the award for this year to be given in next conclave.
Looking forward to continuing our work and advancing the field of urology together to serve the patients with the best care!

Spent 1 fruitful week at Uro-Oncology department at Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai, Maharashtra and Cancer Research Community of Actrec - TMC availing Siliguri travelling fellowship of east zone of Urological Society of India Facebook Group, awarded for training in urology anywhere in India. Observed radical cystectomy, complex lymph node dissection and kidney cancer surgeries.

I consider myself fortunate to have attended the first live workshop and conference of women urologists anywhere in the world, EmpWoUher 1.0, held at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra by women section of Urological Society of India Facebook Group.

I was the only urologist from Bihar to be a part of this excellent academic feast as a chairperson in a session and celebrate the grand occasion of women in urology in India and across the world.

The annual national conference of urological society of India ( ) was organised in Patna in early Feb 2024. It also showed the world that a national event of this magnitude with more than 2000 national and international urologists can be organised in Patna.
It was a great honour as well as responsibility to be a part of the organising team.
I received the opportunity to be chairpersons in two sessions in pediatric urology along with the global stalwarts in the field and to present my paper in another session.
The exchange of knowledge, networking opportunities, and the sense of contributing to the field's growth amplified the event's significance. Patna's rich cultural backdrop added a unique charm to the conference, enhancing both professional and personal experiences. Overall, it was a momentous occasion that celebrated innovation, camaraderie, and the collective pursuit of excellence in urological care.

विगत 4 फ़रवरी को कई अस्पतालों में विश्व कैंसर दिवस मनाया गया जिसमें मुझे भी कुछ कार्यक्रमों में आमंत्रित होने का अवसर मिला।
पर क्या हम इसे एक आयोजन की तरह मना कर छोड़ देते हैं या इससे अनभिज्ञ लोगों के बीच इस बीमारी और इससे सम्बंधित इलाज़ की जागरूकता भी इन वर्षों में बढ़ी है?
एक 23 साल की लड़की 2 साल पहले AIIMS PATNA में पेट दर्द की शिकायत ले कर आयी थी और जांचों में दाहिनी किडनी में लगभग 8 cm के ट्यूमर का पता चला। उन्हें ऑपरेशन की सलाह दी गयी पर मरीज के परिजन उसे लेकर एक किसी अल्टरनेट चिकित्सा पद्धति के डॉक्टर के पास ले गए और 2 साल तक उनकी दवाइयां देते रहे। 2 साल के बाद जब पेट में गाँठ ऊपर से महसूस होने लगी तो वो लोग वापस AIIMS-Patna ले कर आए और नई जांचों में ट्यूमर के 20 cm के होने का पता चला जो खून की बड़ी नस (Inferior Vena Cava) से चिपका हुआ था और IVC के किनारे और पीछे lymph nodes में फ़ैल चूका था।
उस लड़की की 25 cm के साइज की दाहिनी किडनी और lymph nodes निकाल दिए गए। आज उसकी biopsy रिपोर्ट आयी और किडनी और lymph nodes में कैंसर की पुष्टि हुई।
इलाज़ में देरी होने से अब मरीज की आयु पर असर पड़ेगा और उसे आजीवन कैंसर की दवाई खानी पड़ेगी।
किसी भी कैंसर का अगर जल्दी पता चले और सही से उपचार किया जाए तो यह ठीक हो सकता है। किडनी, पेशाब की थैली,प्रोस्टेट, लिंग और अंडकोष के कैंसर के इलाज़ की सभी सुविधाएं All india institute of medical science (AIIMS), Patna, Bihar. में उपलब्ध हैं।
