Al Shifa College of Paramedical Scienceproudly participated in a seminar and environmental exhibition titled “Haritham Lahari Rahitham”, held on July 28, 2025, at Government Arts and Science College, Malappuram, in connection with World Nature Conservation Day. The event was jointly organized by the District Excise Office and the District Environment Office, Malappuram, with the aim of fostering awareness on environmental protection and promoting a drug-free lifestyle among the youth.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Jinesh C. (Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology), followed by the presidential address delivered by Shri Jilesh Jose P. (Assistant Excise Commissioner, Malappuram). The event was officially inaugurated by Shri Muhammed Mainudheen Abid K.A. (District Leader, State NC Unit and Assistant Excise Commissioner, Perinthalmanna). A short session highlighting the importance of eco-conscious and drug-free living was presented by student representative Ms. Jish*thna Nasar T.. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Divya V. (Assistant Professor, Malayalam Department) and Dr. Gayathri M. Das (Assistant Professor, English Department).

The academic segment featured two expert talks:

“Prakrithiyodu Enth Lahari” by Shri Vineesh Vallikunnu, Environmental Science Expert

“Aduthathinteyum Lokathinteyum Niyamam” by Shri Biju P., Educational Consultant and Trainer, DREAMS Institute, Tirur

Representing the Anti-Drug Cell of Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences, 15 advanced learners from the B.Sc. MLT & OPTOMETRY along with one faculty member, actively participated in the event. The programme effectively encouraged student involvement in ecological sustainability and social responsibility, blending awareness initiatives with purposeful collaboration.

Medical Camp Report
Organized by Mangatoor Mahallu Committee in Collaboration with KIMS Al Shifa Super Speciality Hospital & Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences

A free mega medical camp was successfully conducted on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Jumamasjid Hall, Mangatoor, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The camp was jointly organized by the Mangatoor Mahallu Committee, in association with KIMS Al Shifa Super Speciality Hospital, Perinthalmanna, and Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local public, aiming to promote health awareness and early diagnosis of lifestyle diseases. A team of expert doctors and healthcare professionals offered consultations and checkups in the following specialties:

General Medicine

ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat)

Dermatology (Skin)

Pediatrics (Children)

Ophthalmology(Eye)

Urology

Gynecology

In addition, free blood pressure, blood sugar, BMI, and hemoglobin tests were carried out, helping participants to understand and monitor their basic health status.

The camp was met with overwhelming appreciation from the attendees, especially for the accessible and professional services provided. The organizers extended special thanks to the entire team from KIMS Al Shifa for their generous support and service commitment.

Add-On Course on “Ethics and Professionalism in Healthcare”
Organized by: IQAC, Innovation Club & Department of Optometry
Venue: ACPMS Auditorium, Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences

Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The Department of Optometry in collaboration with the IQAC and Innovation Club of Al Shifa College of Paramedical Sciences organized an Add-On Course on “Ethics and Professionalism in Healthcare” on 17th July 2025. The session was held at the ACPMS Auditorium from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The resource person for the session was Mr. Fahmid PS, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Optometry, ACPMS. His insights on ethical conduct and professional behavior in clinical settings were highly enlightening and relevant to future healthcare professionals. The session aimed to instill the importance of integrity, empathy, responsibility, and accountability among budding optometrists.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mrs. Thasneem, IQAC Co-ordinator, who highlighted the objective of the Add-On Course and emphasized the need for ethical awareness in the medical field.

The felicitation was delivered by Mrs. Ameena Kukku, the Add-On Course Programme Co-ordinator, who appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in shaping responsible healthcare professionals.

The session was attended by 1st year and 3rd year B.Sc. Optometry students, who actively participated and interacted with the speaker, making the session engaging and informative.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Askar P.K, Vice Principal In-Charge and QAS Co-ordinator. He expressed gratitude to the resource person, faculty members, students, and organizing committees for the successful conduct of the programme.

The session was a great success and served as a valuable learning experience for all the participants.
