The multilevel healthcare complex titled ‘THE MES ACADEMY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’ of the Muslim Educational Society is situated in picturesque local sprawling over 60 acres of land at Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district of Kerala state. This is a multidisciplinary medico network compressing a post graduate medical college and its teaching hospital, dental college, nursing college, school of nursing, and the institute of paramedical science, all these educational institutions enjoys minority status under the Government of India. Academic and extracurricular activities of these campus institutions are managed under the parasol of MESAMS.
MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL The college is recognized by the ministry of health and family welfare, New Delhi the Medical Council of India (MCI), Govt. of Kerala and is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). The annual intake of the college is 100. The college conducts the following post graduate Degree courses in General Medicine, Paediatrics, General surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology & Community Medicine. PG diploma courses are also offered in child health, TB & Chest, Psychiatry, Medicine, Medical Radio diagnosis, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology and Clinical Pathology.The college building comprises four stories with a total floor area of 1,50,000 sq.ft. I has got full fledged pre and para -clinical depts. With fully equipped laboratories, air conditioned lectures teachers and auditorium, well set exclusive central libray with all latest technological devices to acces electronic journal and online medical and health magazines.The college has the finest infrastructure for indoor and outdoor games. All academic modules including clinical training are supervised and administered by eminent professors and experienced faculy members. The college has now emerged itself into a center of academic excellence as is evidenced by laurels like university first rank and many distinctions secured by MES medicos competing with the other medical college under the government sectior as well as the self financing sector .We have also a separate research wing fully engaged in carrying out medical research programmes systematically. This medical college has also launched a online webportal named “ANNALS-MEDICUS” for the electronic updation of the latest medical trends all over the world. A 500 bedded teaching hospital, having all specilatity and superspeciality departments with state-of-the art technologies is attached to the college as per the guidelines prescribed by the Medical Council of India.The hospital has all major superspeciality departments such as Neurolgy & Neurophysiology, Cardiology, Neuro Surgery, Urology & Andrology, Gastroenterology & Proctology, Cardiothorasic Surgery, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Nephrology and Dialysis, Paediatric Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, Endocrine Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Rheumatology, Plastic surgery and Cosmetic surgery, Clinical Genetics.
DENTAL COLLEGE The college is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), New Delhi, Dental Council of India, Govt. of Kerala and the college is affiliated to KUHS. The college is located in the MESASMS campus and is having all the state-of-the art infrastructure facilities excelling all other dental colleges in Kerala.The college building comprises four stories with total floor area of 100000sq.ft. The annual intake of the college is 100 classes are supervised and administered by highly qualified and experienced faculty members besides, BDS students are taught and trained in mes medical college under the supervision of the medical college professors and faculty members for the basics science teaching progrmmes of the BDS students. A well equipped mobile dental clinic is also extending services to the public. A separate academic block for post graduate studies in dentistry has the constructed exclusively for starting MDS course.
COLLEGE OF NURSING Nursing college and school of nursing are also located in separate building with area of 50000 sq.ft.In the mesams campus itself with all modern facilities and approved by the Nursing Council of India, Govt. of Kerala, Kerala Nurses & Midwifery Council and KUHS. The nursing college has an annual students intake of 50 students while the school of nursing is having a intake of 20.
