Have you ever wondered how embracing change could alter the course of your life for the better? Today, I want to share a piece of my story.

Years ago, I was just an ordinary person, living a mundane life, until yoga teaching opened up a new horizon. It did not just introduce me to the art of balance and mindfulness, but it also ushered a fresh perspective into my life.

Yoga teaching is not merely about flexibility, postures, or breathing techniques. It is a journey of self-discovery, self-acceptance, and transformation. Giving up on temporary temptations and focusing on the inner soul has been an eye-opening experience.

With every session, I found myself meeting like-minded people, each holding a unique story of their own, yet connected by a common desire for peace and positivity. Their journeys of seeking better health, inner peace, and personal growth resonated with mine, inspiring me to walk further down this enlightening path.

I realized that every bend, every stretch, and every deep breath was an opportunity to let go of the unnecessary and open up space for the new. I evolved from being a person grappling with distractions to someone with a clear focus and unwavering determination.

Through yoga, I learned to attract only positive energy and to let go of that which does not serve my highest purpose. From a non-believer, I transformed into a strong believer, understanding that anything is possible if we set our minds to it.

Yoga has taught me to live in the moment, laugh out loud, and cherish the journey rather than the destination. A journey, I hope, that never ends.

Yoga did not just change my life; it became a part of my existence. And for this transformation, I am grateful.

So here's a question for you: Are you ready to embrace change and transform your life? 🙏 🌼

SATVAN MAUKTIKAANI - PEARLS OF WISDOM

Human nature is simple and complex, all at once. While we recognize the larger picture of “good vs bad”, “right vs wrong” and “noble vs evil”, it's often the “grey” areas of our nature that need to be explored.

Yoga inherently talks about balance: the balance between the elements of the earth, the composition of the body, and the balance between the spiritual, physical, and mental states of our being. It’s this constant seeking of balance that brings out the unexplored parts of our own nature to light. Contemplation and meditation (Manan) on these various, hidden aspects of our own nature, help us refine our character (Charitra), leading us to find OUR focal point; our equilibrium; our balance.

SATTVIC SATURDAYS

Today we look at Sattvic food and what are its advantages.

Ayurveda divides food into 3 categories -

Sattva - This is the highest guna, representing balance and harmony. This is the ideal state. Fresh organic vegetables and fruits, grain and pulses in their pure form and some dairy like fresh milk, curds, ghee and butter made from milk extracted on the same day are considered good examples of Sattvic food.

Rajas - This guna represents activity and movement. Too much rajas leads to stress, overstimulation, and overexcitement. Some Rajasic food types are root veggies like onion, leek, garlic and certain night-shades like eggplants. Mushrooms and such fungi are also Rajasic in nature.

Tamas. This is the base guna. It's associated with pessimism, weakness, and laziness. Meats and non-fresh dairy, eggs, oily and spicy foods fall under this catagory and Ayurveda suggests that one should stay away from these negative energies at all times.

So eat sattvic, live sattvic and feel sattvic.
