Yoga & Injuries

We don’t talk about that enough. And yet it feels to me that most practitioners and teachers have gone through something! How many times my best friend (also a Yoga teacher) and I, were just talking after a week full of classes realizing that our entire bodies were hurting.

Boy what a long journey it has been for me. Chronic pains are no fun. Of course so much of it is psychosomatic and that’s why it’s so difficult to come out of that loop. The frustration is also a build up. Some days you think you’ll never get rid of it, some days you’re just tired of yourself and blaming yourself for putting yourself in this shape in the first place.

Navigating the yoga world with an injury gave me so much perspective. It rocked my entire world. Shook everything that I had learned and I had to relearn. How to move, how to perceive my body in space and how to teach with that new knowledge.

The way I am teaching now is often time perceived as anything but traditional and yet it is deeply rooted in the tradition and Krishnamacharya’s work itself.

After all yoga is not about what we can and cannot do, it’s about connecting to our bodies, connecting to our breath and connecting to the Divine. Coming back to what’s essential. And allowing ourselves to sit in silence and observe the rythme of what is inside mirroring the outside.

Samhain Blessings 🧞

Celebrating this night on the southern hemisphere always feels so special to me. Everything seems upside down. No pumpkin spice latte, no leaves that turn all kinds of yellow, it’s almost like you cannot hide behind the tales, the costumes and the folklore.

Here your on the opposite side of the mirror, it’s like a reverse UNO card, the projection will definitely reflect on you.

As all the decorations fade away, you come to the Essence.

On this night I connect with my Guides. According to mediumnity, once you pass away you have a choice, you can become the guide of somebody you love, somebody from your bloodline. Some of my ancestors are right here with me at all times, especially one that I see often but whom I take time to connect with tonight.

I connect with my ancestors, with my heritage, with generations, knowledge, memories, that run through my veins. I can see and feel thousands of humans smiling at me and whispering “look at what you’re doing now and where you are, our lifetimes also led you here.”

I celebrate and cherish the ones that have passed away this year 🕊️

And finally, let’s not forget that this sabbath takes place during Scorpio Season, so I take the time to acknowledge and celebrate all the versions of myself that have passed away, that I killed just so I could become who I am today. Just so I could be reborn again, and again until the end.

The veil is thin.
On this night more than any other

Witch Season is here 🌙

Scorpio Season, the threshold. The Alchemist, the transformation. The Phoenix that rises from the ashes again and again.

The portal where the unconscious becomes conscious.

Scorpionic Energy is about realizing how temporary our life is. It’s dancing with the concept of death and rebirth. It’s living, vibrating, feeling, speaking every day like it is your last. Imagine it’s your last days on this earth, there would be no more secrets, no more taboos, nothing to be held back, no emotions left unexpressed, no issues left unsolved. Tango with the uncomfortable.

If it was your last days in this earth, don’t you think you would act onto everything you’re feeling? Following your inner guidance becomes more important than the outside world.

Blessed Scorpio Season, may the veil be lifted and the transformation begin.

How do you measure success?

I really had to sit down with this one for a couple of weeks. As often it came up in this particular time of change that I’m gently moving through, but also in several charts I was reading. Like a question lingering in the back of my head.

This question of course came at a time where I was feeling like a failure. And then a friend of mine asked me « how do you measure success? ».

The first few days my mind was blown 🤯 I guess I had never thought about it. What did it mean when I was a manager in my last carreer? What does it mean as a Yoga Teacher? As a guide? As an astrologer? What does it mean in my personal life?

Something came up, success depends on what’s your life objective right here and now and whether you can accomplish it swiftly. But in broader terms, I thought, do I want a successful career or do I want to be successful at Life?

Which means to me, experimenting life.

I think this is an answer mostly driven by my Sagittarius moon, whispering in my ear « you cannot grow if you don’t come out of your comfort zone dear »
