A proud moment for India and a defining milestone in the advancement of medical training.
The inauguration of the world’s first Hybrid ENT Skill Lab at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune received wide media coverage for its global significance and innovation.
The institution has launched the EndoPlay Skill Lab, a world-first Hybrid Endoscopic-Microscopic ENT training facility, setting new benchmarks in surgical education. This advanced platform enables cadaveric dissection using both microscopic and two-handed endoscopic techniques, powered by the US-patented EndoHold system.
This pioneering initiative was envisioned and enabled by the leadership of Hon’ble Dr. P. D. Patil, Hon’ble Dr. Bhagyashree Patil and Hon’ble Dr. Yashraj Patil, reflecting the institution’s commitment to innovation-driven education and academic excellence.
The lab was inaugurated in the presence of Dean, Dr. Rekha Arcot, with academic leadership by Prof. Dr. Mayur Ingale. The inaugural Hybrid Temporal Bone Dissection Workshop trained select ENT surgeons and postgraduates from across India, offering hands-on exposure to a first-of-its-kind hybrid surgical training experience.
Poised to serve as the official dissection hub for the upcoming international conference SEOCON 2025, the EndoPlay Skill Lab stands as a testament to India’s leadership in advanced ENT education and global surgical excellence.
