The story of Chavan Hospital is as simple as any other “boy meets girl” story. Both Dr. Shahaji Chavan and Dr. Mrs Vaishali Chavan completed their MBBS from BJ Medical College Pune. After a brief time spent in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Hospital in Ojhar-Nashik they returned back to Pimpri-Pune to work in Hindustan Antibiotics Hospital. . Vaishali Chavan started her private practice – outpatient clinic in Vallabhnagar just outside the Hindustan Antibiotics colony. Dr. Shahaji Chavan took his time preferring the security of a government job for a short while. Eventually he joined her and they expanded the outpatient clinic to a few inpatient beds and added an operation theater, which also served as a labor and delivery room. Before they knew they were a Maternity and Surgical hospital, a mom&pop shop started by two entrepreneurs who had no clue how to run a start-up. All they had was a passion to care for their patients and a sincere gratitude for having been given the opportunity to do so. As the number of patients they served grew; the clinic-turned hospital became a constraint. This led to the birth of Chavan Hospital at its current location in the year 1996. A simple straightforward doctor-patient relationship is now administrated by the third-party payers/insurance companies/etc. unknowingly adding to the overall healthcare overhead. Adapting to the new world of cashless, Chavan Hospital strives to retain its age-old values of compassion, integrity, excellence in quality of care provided to human beings by human beings at an affordable-price to ensure thriving community in its neighborhood.
