Bilateral Pleural Effusion in a 17-Year-Old Boy
A 17-year-old patient recently visited Healing Touch Hospital with complaints of breathlessness and chest discomfort. Our diagnostic team conducted a chest X-ray and ultrasound, revealing a rare and concerning finding:

**Right-sided pleural effusion** – a large collection of fluid compressing the lung.
**Left-sided *encysted* pleural effusion** – trapped fluid surrounded by fibrous tissue, often indicating a more chronic or organized condition.
Imaging showed fluid buildup on both sides of the chest, but with different characteristics—free on one side and encysted on the other. This combination is uncommon in young patients and can be caused by infections like **tuberculosis**, **pneumonia**, or other inflammatory conditions.

The patient is being managed with careful fluid analysis and further evaluation to determine the exact cause and guide treatment.
