*Body Fat Scale Launch Announcement*

We are excited to announce the introduction of a Body Fat Scale at our clinic! This advanced scale not only measures your weight but also provides important insights into your body composition, including body fat percentage, visceral fat levels, muscle mass, BMI, and resting metabolism.

Regular body composition monitoring is a powerful tool for tracking health improvements and identifying risk factors for conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Unlike traditional weighing scales, our new device helps you understand the difference between fat loss and muscle gain, offering a clearer picture of your wellness journey.

Key features:
- Measures body fat percentage, muscle mass, visceral fat, BMI, and more.
- Safe and painless—simply stand barefoot on the scale for instant results.
- Reports can be used to monitor progress over time and personalize diet or exercise plans.

We encourage all patients to try this service as part of routine check-ups or fitness assessments. For more details on how this tool can help optimize your health management, please consult our team.

Let’s take proactive steps together towards lasting wellness!

*Diabetes & Fatty Liver Screening: Importance and Approach*
Fatty liver disease, particularly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is highly prevalent in individuals with diabetes. Since there are often no obvious symptoms, screening for fatty liver disease in people with diabetes is crucial for early detection and preventing progression to more serious liver conditions.
*Why is Screening for Fatty Liver Important in Diabetes?*
1. High Risk of Fatty Liver in Diabetics
People with type 2 diabetes are at increased risk for developing NAFLD because of factors such as insulin resistance, obesity, and metabolic syndrome.
o Studies suggest that up to 70% of people with type 2 diabetes also have fatty liver. This makes diabetes one of the key risk factors for fatty liver disease.
2. Silent Progression of Fatty Liver
NAFLD can progress to more severe conditions like non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), liver cirrhosis, and liver cancer. However, fatty liver disease often doesn’t have noticeable symptoms until it’s too late.
Routine screening can help catch the condition early when lifestyle changes or medical interventions can prevent or slow progression.
3. Comorbidity with Metabolic Disorders
Fatty liver and diabetes share common underlying risk factors like obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. If not managed, fatty liver in diabetics can lead to worsened metabolic control, creating a vicious cycle of worsening liver and blood sugar health.
*Screening Guidelines and Methods*
When to Screen
• People with type 2 diabetes, especially those who are overweight or obese, should be screened for fatty liver disease.
• Screening is often recommended at the time of diabetes diagnosis, or in those with poorly controlled diabetes (i.e., high HbA1c levels).
• If a patient already knows about fatty liver, they should be monitored regularly for progression.
