NKT COPIED::People come to see me a lot for sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction. It hurts to bend, twist, sit, stand, etc. It can happen from twisting and lifting, sitting too long, lifting something too heavy, etc. There are many muscles that support the SIJ anteriorly and posteriorly, including the psoas and glutes. If either for both of those become neurologically under active, the SIJ will compress itself to compensate for that loss of stability. In NKT we not only treat the muscle imbalances, but also compressed joints and neurologically over active ligaments (via their mechanoreceptors). So to correct a jammed SIJ we balance the muscles, joints, and ligaments.
