Today the world bends the body,
but forgets to awaken the being.

Yoga has become performance.
Shapes.
Flexibility.
Display.

But the ancient Yogis did not sit in Siddhasana to impress the world.
They sat to transcend it.

“Asana is not about twisting yourself into impossible positions.
It is about becoming established within yourself.”

The body must become like a mountain —
steady, rooted, unmoving.
The spine rises like a sacred tree toward the light of higher consciousness.

When the body becomes still,
the breath becomes quiet.
When the breath becomes quiet,
the mind stops chasing shadows.

And in that silence,
you begin to remember who you truly are.

The real asana is not the posture of the body.
The real asana is the posture of consciousness.

Grounded to Earth.
Aspiring toward Light.

That is Yoga.

A new parable from Guruji

A young student once stood in the center of a dense, thorny thicket, hacking wildly at the branches. The more he struck, the more the thorns tore at his clothes and skin. Bleeding and exhausted, he cried out, "Master, these thorns are endless! The more I fight, the tighter they grip me."

The Guru, standing on a hill above, spoke softly: "You cannot clear the forest while you are being swallowed by it. Your struggle is the very thing feeding the thorns."

Heeding the word, the student ceased his flailing. He stood perfectly still, controlled his breath, and slowly, carefully, unhooked each thorn from his garments. One by one, he disentangled himself until he could step backward, out of the brush and onto the clear path.

Only then, from the safety of the path, could he see the one weak branch that held the entire thicket together. With a single, calm motion, he moved it, and the way forward opened.

"To see the path," the Guru said, "you must first refuse to be part of the tangle."

True wisdom teaches us that you cannot untie a knot while your own fingers are caught within its loops. When we are submerged in the turbulence of a problem, we are merely part of the storm—our reactions only add to the wind and the rain. We become "problem-centric," lost in the friction of the ego and the immediate crisis.

To find the solution, one must practice the art of conscious withdrawal. By disentangling your sense of self from the external chaos, you shift from a reactive state to a reflective one. You move from the center of the cyclone to the steady ground of the observer. Only from this distance of "Pure Consciousness" can the patterns of the struggle be seen clearly.

When you are no longer part of the problem, the solution manifests as a natural grace.

The Alchemy of Action: Understanding Karma and Dharma with Guruji Anandaji

In a profound Yoga Darshana session, Guruji Anandaji and Yogacharini Anandhi delved into the intricate tapestry of **Karma**, **Dharma**, and the evolution of human consciousness. Far from the simplistic "reward and punishment" view often found in popular culture, Guruji explained that karma is a subtle science of the mind—a reflection of the state of consciousness from which every action is born.

The Root of Karma: Avidya and the Kleshas
Guruji emphasized that karma does not begin with the hands or the tongue, but with **Avidya** (ignorance). It is our fundamental misunderstanding of our true nature that fuels the *Kleshas* (afflictions), such as egoism and attachment.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras categorize our experiences into two realms:
* **Drishta:** Perceived experiences in this lifetime.
* **Adrishta:** Unperceived imprints that span across multiple lifetimes.

Every thought, word, and action creates a *Samskara* (imprint) that shapes our future perceptions and tendencies. **Kleshamula Karmashaya** is the deep rooted connection between Kleshas and Karma and true spiritual growth involves the thinning and eventual destruction of these root causes of suffering.

# # # Choice: The Gap Between Stimulus and Response
One of the most practical insights shared was the distinction between **Instinct** and **Intuition**:

* **Instinct:** Actions driven by past conditioning and unconscious habits.
* **Intuition:** Guidance from higher consciousness.

> "The power of choice lies in the gap between stimulus and response."

By cultivating awareness in the present moment, we can move from "reacting" to "responding." Guruji reminded us that **every breath represents a new lifetime**, offering a fresh opportunity to break free from the cycles of the past.

# # # Dharma and the Three Gunas
While **Karma** is "my doing," **Dharma** is our higher purpose or focus. Aligning our lives with Dharma helps mitigate the binding effects of karma. To navigate this, we must understand the three **Gunas** (energies of nature):

1. **Sattva:** Harmony, balance, and light.
2. **Rajas:** Activity, passion, and restlessness.
3. **Tamas:** Inertia, dullness, and darkness.

By cultivating *Sattva*, we shift our focus from **Apunya** (self-centered actions) to **Punya** (actions aligned with cosmic purpose). This transition from the narrow "me" to the "cosmic we" is the hallmark of true spiritual evolution.

# # # Yoga as a Path to Freedom
In a bold critique, Guruji described Yoga as a "threat" to religious dogma. Unlike organized religion, which can sometimes impose limitations, Yoga provides the tools to transcend them. It empowers the individual to connect directly with the Infinite, bypassing rigid structures in favor of direct, lived experience.

# # # Looking Ahead
The session concluded with a beautiful closing chant led by Yogacharini Jñānasundarī.

**Upcoming Event:** Don't miss the beginning of a new **Yoga Nidraa journey starting this Thursday**. This is a powerful opportunity to work directly with the subconscious mind and further dissolve the imprints of karma.

Most of the world is stuck in Pathogenesis, obsessing over what makes us sick. But true yoga is the study of Salutogenesis—the origins of health.

When we shift our mindful attention from "Why am I ill?" to "What makes me thrive?", we begin a journey from incoherence to total coherence.

Through Swadhyaya (self-reflection), we stop being a fragmented "Nara" (disassociated individual) and begin to re-associate with our highest potential. This isn't just philosophy; it’s a biological rewiring.

Change your focus, change your chemistry.
