Senteurs Ashram’s perfumery boutique Welcome to Laboratoires Senteurs, a modest entreprise since 1958, of Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust, Pondicherry.

It started in a very small way, in a tiny room. Its sole objective was to provide Mother with 'The Friction de Foucaud', she used and which was not possible to import in the then ruling regulations. The French firm which manufactured the Lotion suggested that the Ashram import the basic essence and prepare the lotion locally. The manufacturing of the lotion began in this laboratory and soon other perfumes and toilet products followed. Today, Laboratories Senteurs manufactures its own lotion 'Friction' - skin freshner. This remains one of the most popular products with customers. The devotional urge gave the push and the necessary strength. In all enthusiasm, it went progressively on, and today it manufactures a variety of colognes, compounds and perfumes and makes aromatherapy blends with essential oils sourced from the high quality manufacturers. We proceed, remembering the Mother's words:

"Go forward calmly and firmly
Not attached to success,
Not disturbed by unsuccess;
My divine help will then never fail you." And we realise how much this divine help is with us, without which we could not have moved forward and we hear with surprise the almost universal appreciation of all those who visit :

"we just love to come to this boutique !"
