Prayagraj Chapter of IAPEN India Association, USA Dry P & Lentil Council and Eat Right India Association (USA Dry Pea & Lentil council and Eat Right Indian Association) successfully organized a conference on Sabut Dale-Sustainable Superfood on 24/08/2023 afternoon.
Audience had a mix of Mumbai, Varanasi apart from Prayagraj.
This is the first event organized by our city dietitians in collaboration with academics in nutrition sector of various reputed city colleges.
The session was partially presided over by Professor Neelam Yadav of Allahabad University, Ms. Nazneen Hussain of Mumbai (clinical dietitian INS Hamla, Maharashtra), and Mrs. Sushma Tiwari (Medical Nutrition Therapist).
“The importance of pulses, using it in daily dishes as a vegetarian protein source, no compromise on quality”, technologies involved in its development and distribution were some key aspects of discussion in this program. After this, there was an informative and interactive panel discussion in which Mrs. Mansha Singh (Varanasi) said "India will eat lentils, India will be healthy". In the same panel discussion, Mrs. Sushma Tiwari said - "Nutrition is a Science but prescribing it is an Art".
The program was concluded with thanksgiving by Arpana Saxena (Senior Dietitian Indian Railway).
IAPEN India is a non-profitable organization whose President Dr Neeta Verma of Prayagraj Chapter, Secretary Mrs. Sushma Tiwari, Deputy Secretary Dr. Priya Srivastava, Committee Members - Arpana Saxena, Dr. Richa Srivastava, Ambika Yadav, Zoomi Singh, and Swati Chauhan to organize health camps in schools and colleges, Nursing students, Medical And paramedical professionals have been extremely active in educating evidence based nutrition practices.
