Laparoscopic surgery in children has become routine now. Due to its definite advantages, less pain, less trauma, less hospital stay, less wound complications & almost scar less. Recently, I did LAPAROSCOPIC NEPHROURETERECTOMY in a 3-year child. The indication was non functional left kidney due to severe vesico ureteric obstruction.

Dear colleagues.
Hydronephrosis in infants due to UPJ obstruction is the commonest cause leading to renal damage . Dismembered pyeloplasty is the treatment for significant PUJ obstruction . Laparoscopic pyeloplasty is now becoming standard modality over open surgical method . It has definite advantage as minimally invasive with less trauma, no scar, no wound complications, less hospital stay and quicker recovery . Recently I did laparoscopic pyeloplasty in a 6 month old child .

This is regarding congenital anomalies of urinary tract in children that might damage kidneys without significant symptoms or clinical findings . So any abnormalities in kidneys or urinary tract on antenatal Ultrasonograhy or later on ,one should consult peadiatric urologist to save the kidneys. Timely surgical intervention can cure these babies.

Good Evening ,
Appendicitis makes the commonest cause of severe pain abdomen in children . Classical symptoms are Pain abdomen,Vomiting and Fever. A good Ultrasonography confirms the diagnosis. Immediate surgical intervention should be done to minimize complications. Laparoscopic surgery even in children is gold standard and preferred technique now adays . It gives lot of advantages over open surgery.

बच्चों में हर्निया एक सामान्य बीमारी है जिसमे पेट के निचले हिस्से में सूजन दिखती है, जो कम या ज्यादा होती रहती है, इस बीमारी के पता चलने के बाद शीघ्रता से सर्जरी करवाना चाहिए, अन्यथा आंत फँसने की वजह से ये जानलेवा भी हो जाता है, इस ऑपरेशन के लिए उम्र बाधा नहीं है, जिस भी उम्र का बच्चा हो उसकी सर्जरी शीघ्रता से होना चाहिए।
सामन्यतः ये बहुत छोटे चीरे द्वारा की जाती है, जिसमे कोई टाँका नहीं लगता और न ही कोई निशान पड़ता है, ये सर्जरी ओपेन या लेप्रोस्कोपिक विधि से की जाती है, विशेषज्ञ हाँथो में निश्चित लाभ के कारण आज कल लेप्रोस्कोपिक सर्जरी प्रचलन में है।

आज मैं आपसे एक रोचक और दुर्लभ जानलेवा बीमारी के बारे में जानकारी साझा कर रहा हूँ, जिसको Trichobizoar (Repunzel Syndrome) कहते हैं, जो एक परी कथा पर आधारित है। ये बीमारी ज्यादातर यंग बच्चियों में देखा जाता है, इस बीमारी में मरीज अपने या गिरे हुए बालों को खा लेता है, जिसके परिणाम स्वरूप मरीज के stomach (खाने के थैले) में बालों का एक गोला बन जाता है, जिससे एक लम्बी पूँछ छोटी ऑंत तक जाती है, जिसका लक्षण बच्चे के पेट में दर्द, उल्टी आना, बच्चे का कमजोर होता जाना हैं, गंभीर स्त्थिति मे ऑंत में रूकावट के साथ ऑंतो में छेद तक हो जाता है।
4 वर्षीय बच्ची जो विश्व की दूसरी सबसे छोटी बच्ची है उसकी सफल सर्जरी मेरे द्वारा की गई है I किसी भी बच्ची में उपयुक्त लक्षण दिखे तो उसे नजर अंदाज ना करें, चिकित्सकों की उचित परामर्श ले I
