Pulwama’s Tauseef Ashraf Becomes India’s Youngest National Floorball Referee; Selected for International Development Seminar
PULWAMA, January 12:
Tauseef Ashraf of Pulwama has successfully qualified the Floorball B-Grade Referee Examination conducted by the Indian Floorball Federation (InFF), thereby becoming the youngest national floorball referee in India.
Following his certification, Tauseef was selected among 24 officials from across the country to participate in an International Development Seminar, marking a significant milestone for Pulwama and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
His preparation and participation were facilitated by the Jammu & Kashmir Floorball Association, which provided sponsorship, technical guidance, and national-level recommendation. The achievement reflects the steady growth of the floorball ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir over recent years.
Expressing his gratitude, Tauseef said he is deeply thankful to Almighty Allah, his parents, and the J&K Floorball Association for their unwavering support. He also acknowledged the Indian Floorball Federation for providing the opportunity.
Tauseef further credited the institutional and administrative support extended by the Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Mr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS), social activist Mudasir Ahmad Dar, his coach and General Secretary of the J&K Floorball Association, Mr. Fazan-ul-Fayaz, and Pulwama Police, whose guidance and cooperation enabled his progression to the national stage.
The achievement marks a positive development for Jammu & Kashmir’s sporting landscape and reinforces the growing national representation of emerging talent from the region.
