What to Take Before Going for O**m Pickup (OPU) in OT? 🏥🧬
Before undergoing O**m Pickup (OPU), preparation is key to ensure safety and success. Here's a checklist to follow:
✅ Things to Take / Do Before O**m Pickup Procedure:
Fasting Required:
Do not eat or drink anything for 6–8 hours before the procedure (as it is done under anesthesia).
Consent Forms:
Carry signed consent forms for anesthesia and the o**m pickup procedure.
Basic Tests & Reports:
Bring recent blood tests, ECG, and sonography reports if advised by your fertility doctor.
Comfortable Clothing:
Wear loose, comfortable clothes and avoid makeup, nail polish, perfumes, or jewelry.
Medication Instructions:
Take only the medications prescribed by your doctor (some antibiotics or progesterone may be given before pickup).
Partner's Semen Sample (if required):
If a fresh sample is to be collected, partner should accompany or as per clinic instructions.
ID Proof & Hospital File:
Keep your ID proof and hospital file handy at the time of admission.
Arrive on Time:
Be punctual and reach OT or hospital at your scheduled time.
Important Reminder:
Do not drive yourself home. Arrange for someone to accompany you after the procedure.
