Did you know taste plays important role in digestion?
At the onset of the meal, one should take sweet things, in the middle sour and salty things and afterwards pungent ,bitter astringent things. Consuming sweet things in the beginning of the meal overcomes Vayu in the stomach. Sour and salty things like pickles and various chutneys in the middle of the meal stimulates digestive fire. Pungent, bitter and astringent things at the end of the meal will reduces kapha dosha. Amalaki (Indian gooseberry) is a superstar throughout your meal, promoting healthy digestion. It can be consumed in the beginning, middle and at the end of the meal.
🍽️ Mindful Eating: Sushruta stresses the importance of mindful eating. Sit comfortably, focus on your food, and eat at the right time when you're truly hungry. Listen to your body's cues! Opt for the proper quantity as per the digestive capacity.
