✴️Scoliosis is a medical condition characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine.

✴️Instead of a straight line, the spine may curve to the side, often in an "S" or "C" shape.

✴️This condition can develop during childhood or adolescence, but it can also occur in adults due to aging, degeneration, or injury.

✴️Scoliosis can range from mild to severe, and the exact cause often remains unknown, although in some cases it may be linked to genetics, neuromuscular conditions, or spinal abnormalities.

✴️Symptoms of scoliosis can include:
- Uneven shoulders or hips
- One shoulder blade that sticks out more than the other
- Back pain (in more severe cases)
- Difficulty breathing (in extreme cases, due to the reduced space for the lungs)

✴️Treatment options depend on the severity of the curvature and may include observation, physical therapy, braces, or surgery (for more severe cases).

✴️Early detection is key to preventing complications later in life.

🍀World Spine day is celebrated in order to spread awareness amongst individuals to take care and appreciate their spine

🍀Improving spine health is essential for overall well-being. Here are several effective strategies:

1. Maintain Good Posture: Practice sitting and standing with a straight back. Use ergonomic furniture to support your spine.

2. Strengthen Core Muscles: Engage in exercises that strengthen your core, as these muscles support your spine.

3. Stay Active: Regular physical activity, including walking, swimming, and yoga, helps maintain flexibility and strength.

4. Stretch Regularly: Incorporate stretching into your routine to improve flexibility and reduce tension in the spine.

5. Use Proper Lifting Techniques: Bend at the knees and keep the load close to your body when lifting heavy objects.

6. Maintain a Healthy Weight: Excess weight can strain the spine, so aim for a balanced diet and regular exercise.

7. Sleep Well: Choose a mattress that provides adequate support and sleep in a position that maintains spinal alignment.

8. Limit Screen Time: Take breaks from screens to reduce strain on your neck and back.

9. Stay Hydrated: Proper hydration supports spinal discs and overall spinal health.

10. Regular Check-Ups: Consult with a healthcare provider for routine evaluations and advice tailored to your needs.

🍀Implementing these practices can significantly enhance your spine health and prevent issues over time.

➡️This International Womens day, lets talk about Dysmenorrhea.

➡️Dysmenorrhea is defined as pain during the menstrual cycle, in the lower abdomen usually radiating towards the lower limbs.

➡️Dysmenorrhea leaves a negative impact on the patient's life.

➡️It can be caused due to psychological, biochemical and anatomical etiologies.

➡️Treatments include:
1. TENS: Specific high frequencies involving electrical pulses between 50-120 Hz are found to be effective in pain relief.

2. Thermotherapy: Heated wraps, patches and pillows of upto 30-40 degrees over lower abdomen reduces muscle spasm.

3. Exercise: Stretching of adductors and abductors help in reducing pain. Kegels exercises helps increase blood flow in pelvic muscles.
According to studies regular exercising for 45-60 min 3 times a week helps in significant reducing of symptoms.

4. Kinesiotaping: Taping around lower abdomen helps in relieving pressure and tension around pelvic floor muscles and reduces activity of nociceptors.
