Two years ago, RSSDI - Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India established the RSSDI-Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (RSSDI-KCDD) through a collaboration with the Koita Foundation, with a vision to transform diabetes care in India through digital and AI-led innovation.

Since then, RSSDI-KCDD has made meaningful progress across several key areas—contributing to development of NABH standards for diabetes care, supporting development of NABH standards for digital products such as Clinic Management Systems (CMS), empanelling suitable CMS platforms for RSSDI members, enabling integration of CGM data into clinical workflows, encouraging clinician–technologist collaboration through research grants, and identifying digital tools for rural outreach program.

Looking ahead, several initiatives are underway, including driving adoption of digital and AI tools within the clinical community, developing GenAI-based authentic and multilingual patient education resources, creating an educational app for parents of children with Type 1 diabetes, and enabling the piloting and adoption of AI solutions in real-world settings.

Together, these efforts aim to accelerate innovation, strengthen collaboration, and improve access to quality diabetes care across the country.

As we mark this milestone, we acknowledge and celebrate the collective contributions of clinicians, partners, and innovators who continue to shape the future of digital diabetology in India.
