My practise of उपविष्ट कोणासन!
Managing to get the chin touch the floor implying the spine is extended & neck is neutral which is definitely a better form than bending the neck to get the forehead touch the floor to compensate for lesser extention of the spine. With more practise, the chest will open more leading to improved flow towards the ground hence a little more extension of the spine.
As a yoga teacher, it's imperative for me to practically understand all the nuances of each & every asana in order to correctly teach it to my students.

Holistic approach towards fitness (focusing on all dimensions) involving body movements & postures (yogasana) and breathing techniques (pranayam) without using any external equipments.
Comprises of suitable warm up exercises, sukshma vyayam (loosening of joints), yogic postures & pranayam techniques which aid in muscle toning, reducing the musculoskeletal disorders that develop due to a sedentary lifestyles, boosting oxygen levels/enhancing lung capacity and leading to mental peace & harmony.

Performing multiple cycles of अधो मुखो श्वासन (downward facing dog stretch - top picture) & उर्ध्व मुखो श्वासन (upward facing dog stretch - bottom picture) is an excellent yogic sequence for simultaneous stretching & strengthening the shoulder, trunk, back and the hip muscles as their respective joints alternate between undergoing extension & flexion.

उत्तानपादासन:
It's an abdominal strengthening & toning posture with increasing intensity as the position/angle of the legs is lowered.
From mechanics standpoint, it makes sense as lowering of the legs increases the moment arm of the force of gravity hence increasing the reaction coming on to the abdominal muscles.

Being a mechanical engineer with an analytical bent of mind empowers me to perceive the human body (a musculoskeletal system) as a multi degree of freedom system with muscles being actuators which get activated on contraction!
