• Stree Mukti Sangha tana, Pune:

(Women's liberation organization) is a Non-Governmental Organization founded in 1975 working for the empowerment of women, chiefly by creating awareness in the society about women’s issues and improving the lives of women through education, healthcare, and gender equality. Worked with Stree Mukti Sanghatna, Pune on its adolescent sensitization program called "Jidnyasa" as School Counsellor for more than 3 years. This program is oriented towards school going children (mostly of 8th to 10th standards students) covering confusion of love attraction at this particular age, stress management, career, addiction, menstruation, sexuality and studies, sexual abuse etc.

• “आकार”: Explore Your Beautiful Asymmetry:

“आकार”: Explore Your Beautiful Asymmetry is founded by Abhijit Ekambikar (Working Professional), Snehal Parab-Ekambikar (Psychological Counsellor) and Gayatri Vaidya (Psychological Counsellor) in 2018. Where I have contributed mainly towards designing of workshops and faculty selection. An initiative focuses on human well-being through group activities and spreading mental health awareness. Under this initiative, we did some experimental workshops and activities, like workshops named as “पालक वयात येताना” for parents of adolescent age group and “निगराणी” for parents of 0 to 8 age group children, use of supportive therapies like Art Therapy in corporates, webinar call as "भावनिक स्वास्थ जपताना" on mental health awareness.

• Manobal Counselling Group:

In March, 2020, during the initial days of lockdown, 'Manobal Counseling Group' was formed by group of Counsellors and Doctors from Pune. To give mental/emotional support to people and to spread awareness about Covid-19 pandemic through helpline, was the motive behind this group formation. I have worked voluntarily as a Counselor in this group during lockdown. Here I have rendered my counselling services to people who have experienced stress, anxiety, fear and uncertainty issues due to lockdown situation. The आकाशवाणी (All India Radio) and लोकसत्ता (News Paper) have taken note of this noble initiative.

असंख्य सापांनी शरीरभर तांडव करावा, अनेक ढोल पाथकांनी एकत्र, एकाच वेळी डोक्यात practice करावी आणि इतका कल्लोळ आपल्याच शरीरात [मनात (डोक्यात)] चालू असताना आपण मात्र अवजड साखळदंडात जखडलेले असतो. आतल्या आत आपलाच होणारा अंत पाहत. हताश, निराश, दिशाहीन.. आता कुणावरही विश्वास उरलेला नसतो, कुणी आपलं नाहीच हे नक्की होत जातं आणि मग यातून जर बाहेर पडायचं असेल तर स्वतःला उभं करण्याशिवाय पर्याय नाही. एवढी एकच काय ती आशा... उरली असेल तर..

मग प्रश्न पडतो, कशाचा अंत होतोय.. काय संपत असतं अशावेळी? का इतकं खोलवर रुतायला लागलंय आता सगळंच. इथे संपत असते ती इतकी वर्षे निरर्थक जपलेली, कुजलेली आणि त्रासदायक आपलीच "विचार यंत्रणा". ज्यातून फक्त क्लेश वाट्याला आलेला असतो स्वतःच्या आणि इतरांच्याही. कितीही नाही म्हटलं तरी आपलं कोण आणि सोयीने आपल्याबरोबर कोण याचा होतोच न्यायनिवाडा. पण आता बदल आपल्यात गरजेचा आहे इतरांमध्ये नाही ही समज खूप महत्वाची ठरते.

ही खरंतर आपली कात टाकण्याची वेळ. जुन्या निरूपयोगी आणि घातक सवयींना, विचारांना मोडून काढण्याची संधी. आपल्या चुका सुधारण्याची इतरांच्या सोडून देण्याची, आपल्या क्षमता आजमावण्याची वेळ. कशात अडकून राहायचं आणि कशातून स्वतःला मोकळं करायचं याची मापदंड ठरवण्याचा काळ. चुकलेले निर्णय, माणसांची निवड, आता सगळं समजायला लागेल. भावनेच्या आहारी जाऊन नाही तर विचारपूर्वक घेतले जातील निर्णय. या transition कडे पाहण्याचे काही पर्याय असतात एकतर याच परिस्थितीत गटांगळ्या खात बसणं, स्वतः थांबणं किंवा योग्य ती मदत घेऊन त्यातून बाहेर पाडण्याचे मार्ग शोधणं..

अशावेळी दोनच गोष्टींवरचा विश्वास मदत करतो एक म्हणजे मदत मिळू शकते आणि मला स्वतःवर काम करायचं आहे. ज्याक्षणी या पर्यायाला आपण निवडतो आपलं निम्मं काम झालेलं असतं. यापुढचा सगळाच प्रवास आता आपण ठरवणार असतो. भावनांना समजून घेऊन आणि डोळसपणे विचार करून. प्रश्न पुढेही पडत राहतील पण आता त्याकडे पाहण्याचा नवा, सुदृढ असा आपला स्वतःचा दृष्टिकोन असणारे मदतीला.

आणि मग कदाचित सुधीर फडके यांचं "फिटे अंधाराचे जाळे, झाले मोकळे आकाश.. दरीखोर्‍यातून वाहे एक प्रकाश, प्रकाश.." हे गाणं नव्याने ऐकू येईल.

The enthusiastic response from teachers was truly heartening. 💫

"Dance Movement Therapy (DMT)" is a beautiful way to connect with your emotions through body movement—and today’s workshop was just that and more!

I felt deeply happy noticing the shift in myself before and during the activities. Expressing emotions that were once hard to voice- felt natural and freeing.

Huge thanks to mentors and Reshama Kulkarni for creating such a safe, welcoming space. Vaishali mam's clear instructions and guidance helped us express with honesty and ease.

Imagine a dance floor where the dancers are our tender emotions. These emotions come in different forms and shapes, expressing our warmth, care, and love toward others. As we move across the dance floor, we may encounter obstacles that hinder our ability to express these emotions, such as fear of vulnerability or rejection. But when we push past these obstacles and let our emotions flow freely, we create a beautiful dance of affection that strengthens our relationships and brings us closer to those we love.
