Giving Back to Where it All Began: Empowering the Next Generation of Audiologists
It was an absolute honor for our Founder and Head Audiologist at Marvel Hearing Solutions, Kharadi (Pune), Mr Mathew Thomas Ettiyathara to return to his alma mater, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Mangalore, Manipal University, as an esteemed alumnus!
Speaking to an energetic and passionate batch of future professionals, he delivered an insightful guest lecture on a subject close to his heart: "How to Successfully Establish an Audiological Centre and Build a Thriving Private Practice."
From navigating initial clinical setups to maintaining a dedicated, patient-centric, multi-brand approach, the session was packed with real-world insights on elevating hearing healthcare standards in India.
Vital Message to Hearing Health Consumers: Choose Your Audiologist, Not Just an Online Offer
While mentoring the students, our founder also emphasized a growing concern in the hearing care industry. Today, the internet is flooded with flashy online advertisements, heavily discounted "plans," and aggressive marketing claiming to have the "best service" or a "flash audiologist on site."
Your hearing health is irreplaceable. Do not compromise it for an online marketing gimmick.
When choosing a professional to look after your hearing, always look beyond the screen and verify their core credentials:
Legitimate Qualifications & Degrees: Ensure your professional holds a verified, clinical university degree in audiology (such as a BASLP or MSc ).
RCI Registration: A qualified professional must be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Unlicensed dealers and hearing aid salesmen are not clinical audiologists.
On-Field Clinical Experience: Real expertise comes from years of hands-on clinical diagnostic and rehabilitative experience, not an algorithm or a retail sales pitch.
The Marvel Takeaway: A hearing aid is not just a commercial product you buy off a shelf; it is a sophisticated medical device that requires precise, expert medical fitting and clinical care.
