On 30th July 2025, we proudly hosted a 'UV Safety and Dry Eye Awareness Event' to observe UV Safety and Dry Eye Awareness Month (July).

This engaging initiative saw enthusiastic participation from B.Optom and M.Optom students. The event began with an introduction to Optometry tailored specially for the new FY B. Optom batch, setting the stage for an enlightening experience.

The SY and TY B.Optom students presented informative posters and creative models, bringing complex topics to life through visual representation.

The SY B.Optom students also captivated the audience with a dry eye awareness skit and presentations highlighting the latest advancements in dry eye management.

The event concluded with a pledge by all attendees to spread awareness about UV safety and dry eye, reinforcing our commitment to eye health and public education.

A successful Eye Screening Camp was conducted on 24th July 2025 by Community Eye Care Foundation (Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic, Pune) at Shree Mhaskoba Mandir, Purandar.
A dedicated team of 4 M. Optom 2nd year students of BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, along with the optometrists from Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic, screened a total of 202 patients during the vision screening.
Thank you to all volunteers and organizers for their dedication and service to eye health!👁

On 17th July 2025, 4 students of M.Optom of BV(DU) School of Optometry participated in an eye screening camp organized by Rotary Club of Pune, Central with Community Eye Care Foundation (Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic), Pune at Aranhas Rosary School and Jr. College in Camp, Pune along with the optometrists at Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic.
A total of 335 patients were screened successfully, making the activity a success.
Such activities provide a platform for the students to contribute to the community and, at the same time, utilise the skills they have acquired throughout their Optometry career.

In the spirit of community eye care, on 11th July 2025, 13 students of M.Optom at BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, took part in an eye camp organized by Rotary Club of Katraj along with Shri Sankalp Foundation, Padmavati Pune at Vinkar Sabhagruh Mangal Karyalaya, Pune.
Through this eye camp, a massive total of 1126 patients were screened for the presence of refractive errors, squint, cataract, and other ocular abnormalities!
The camp concluded, leaving among the participants a sense of pride and contribution to society.

The strive towards community eye care by BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune continues with 4 students of M.Optom participating along with the Optometrists from Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic, in an eye camp organized by the Rotary Club of Pune with Community Eye Care Foundation (Dr. Gogate’s Eye Clinic) at the Dakshana Foundation, Dakshana Valley, Village Kadus on 8th July 2025.
The camp was a huge success, with a total of 378 patients getting screened, out of which 124 were prescribed glasses.

The students of BV(DU) MC, School of Optometry, Pune, took part in an eye screening camp organized by Master Ajinkya Sheikhdar Smriti Foundation, Warje, Pune, at Raosaheb Patwardhan Vidyalaya and Junior College on 18th, 20th, and 23rd June, 2025.
4 Students of M.Optom 2nd year of BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, participated in the camp on all 3 days, and they were accompanied by Optometrist Shailesh Barve.
The total number of students screened was 320, making it a huge success!

Continuing with the series of campus interviews at BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, on 20th June 2025, we had a team from Lenskart visit the campus to conduct the interviews of 4th year students of B.Optom.
The team provided an introduction about the company and its values while also highlighting the benefits of working in the retail sector.
The session was followed by an interview of the students, providing them an opportunity to explore job opportunities in Optometry.

We are proud of all our budding Optometrists and wish them all the best for their very bright future!

A campus interview was conducted by the team of Titan Eye Plus at BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune on 19th June 2025.
Mr. Nilesh Hampe, with his team, gave an introduction about the company and its values to 4th year students of B.Optom. The team also highlighted the importance of growth opportunities in the working sector.
The session was followed by the interview of the students, which was an enlightening oppurtunity for the students to showcase their skills! 🧠😄

At BV(DU) School of Optometry, Pune, a campus interview was conducted by Reliance Vision Express on 18th June 2025.
Mr. Nitin Ransingh (Regional Operations Asst. Gen Manager of Reliance Vision Express) and team gave an introduction about the company and its values to 4th year students of B.Optom which was followed by the interview of the students.
Such opportunities provide a platform for the students to explore various job opportunities in Optometry and start applying the skills they have acquired throughout the course.

An informative Workshop on Knimbus & Science Direct Database was conducted on 8th May 2025 at BV(DU) Medical College, Katraj, Pune.

The session was attended in person by Ms. Hardeep Kaur ma'am (Assistant professor) and Mr. Phatak Sir (Librarian) and was also joined online by M.Optom. students.
The workshop provided valuable insights into effectively navigating and utilizing the online library platform started by BV(DU) for academic and clinical excellence.
