Needless to say, this is a tough handstand,,,,

And Rakhi here is extremely proficient at it. This means, that not only has she worked hard to reach this physical stage, BUT ALSO HAS a GENETIC CODE that enables her to do this.

An important aspect of the practice of YOG, is to understand the gifts one is born with, and to use them effectively, ON and OFF the mat.

The posture is satisfying, it is attractive to look at and can cause the AHAMKARA (EGO) to increase.

This is where the knowledge of YOG, it's philosophy IS NECESSARY.

It's important and essential to practice Asana. But if one attaches itself to it, believing that Asana = Yog, then there is a serious flaw in understanding.

As time passes, the fine balance of Asana and pranayam MUST lead to the subtle (and extremely strong) knowledge of PRANA.

This is possible only through a disciplined practice of Pranayama, mudras and Bandhas.

YOG is a spiritual practice. Asana is important, and satisfying....

The real ability of a true sadhaka rests in being able to rid the mind of its duality and become one with consciousness.

This is no lean stage, it's extremely powerful.

It's the stage where the siddhis begin to manifest.

So, next time you see a well executed Asana, remember, it is the bridge to take the sadhaka to be able to meditate, dharana a d dhyana and recognise the SOUL, it's nature and purpose in this lifetime.

If the practice of Asana does not make one a better person, then it's simply a circus activity.

The path of meditation must be treaded cautiously.
Asana is extremely important for preparing the physical body
The SHATKARMA are vital for ensuring the flow of breath is even and uniform.
Disturbances in the breath will result in an unsatisfactory practice; hence certain Kriyas are vital.
Kapalbhati is a shatkarma which, when practiced with the right Knowledge , caution, and dedication, takes the sadhaka in the right direction.
The practice of Meditation deals with several layers of the MIND, which are clouded or closed. The appropriate practice of kapalbhati has a calming and purifying effect on the being.
Practice kapalbhati on an empty stomach.
Practice with caution.
Do NOT be aggressive
Practice early morning for best effects
DO NOT practice without a teacher if you are dealing with one or some of these issues:
Severe breathlessness
Heart related issues
Pr*****ed disc
Hernia
Anger
Shaking of limbs

This does not mean the practice won’t benefit those with these problems, it simply means that an experienced teacher will modify the practice with other elements of Pranayam to maintain a steady and calm effect.
