Inspiring Guest Lecture on Nutrition and Well-Being

Dr Jyoti Mate recently had the privilege of being invited to deliver a guest lecture on nutrition, health and well-being for students of MIT ARTS COMMERCE AND SCIENCE COLLEGE.
It was a rewarding experience that allowed me to share insights and engage with both students and their parents.

The session kicked off with an interactive discussion about the importance of nutrition in academic performance and overall health. Students shared their own experiences and challenges with maintaining a balanced diet amidst busy schedules. It was heartening to see their enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Parents also joined the conversation, bringing valuable perspectives on how they can support their children in making healthier choices. Together, we explored practical tips for meal planning, the impact of stress on eating habits, and the significance of mental well-being.

The dynamic exchange of ideas made the lecture not just informative but truly engaging. I left feeling inspired by the commitment of both students and parents to prioritize health and well-being.

PCOD म्हणजे काय?

पीसीओडी म्हणजेच पॉलीसिस्टिक ओव्हेरियन डिसीज (PCOD full form in Marathi) हि महिलांमध्ये उद्भवणारी मासिक पाळीशी संबधित स्थिती आहे ज्यामध्ये परिपक्व स्त्रीबीजांच निर्माण वेळेवर होत नाही आणि गर्भधारणेत अडचण निर्माण होते.
सामान्य भाषेत समजून घ्यायच तर ही आजकाल स्त्रियांमध्ये उद्भवणारी एक सामान्य समस्या आहे, जी मुख्यतः हार्मोनल असंतुलनामुळे होते. या स्थिती मध्ये हार्मोनल असंतुलनामुळे महिलांच्या शरीरात पुरुष हार्मोन्स (एण्ड्रोजन) चे उत्पादन वाढते आणि अंडाशयात सिस्ट तयार होऊ लागतात. ज्यामुळे अनियमित मासिक पाळीची लक्षणे स्त्रियांमध्ये दिसू लागतात.

रजोनिवृत्ती (Menopause )
स्रियांच्या आयुष्यातील महत्वाचा टप्पा.
स्त्री ला 12 महिने मासिक पाळी आली नाही तर रजोनिवृत्ती झाली असे समजन्यात येते.
याचे वय 45 ते 50 वर्षापर्यंत असू शकते. यात स्रियांच्या शरीरातील हार्मोन चे प्रमाण कमी होत जाते.
त्याची लक्षणे कमी अधिक प्रमाणात दिसतात

रजोनिवृती लक्षणे
थकवा,वजन वाढणे,ज्यास्त घाम येणे,गरम वाफा येणे,चिडचिड होणे,तणाव व अस्वस्थता,नैराश्य,भीती,
भावनिक बदल, त्वचा कोरडी होणे,
हृदयाची धडधड,केस गळणे।

उपाय
जीवनशैलीत सकारात्मक बदल करुन ही लक्षणे कमी करू शकतो.
संतुलित व पौष्टिक आहार घेणे,फळे व पालेभाज्या खाणे,जवस,कॅल्शियम युक्त आहार घेणे. जंक फूड,कॉफी,इ टाळणे.
नियमित व्यायाम करणे
योगा करणे
पुरेशी विश्रांती घेणे
तणाव कमी करणे।
