Your children are always soaking in, observing, following you, mirroring and reflecting back.
Don't expect these from your children if you yourself are not-- Calm, mentally stable, disciplined, tidy, well mannered, kind, ambitious, talented , humanitarian, charitable, having hobbies, talents, fitness regimen, sports orientation, creative flair, thirst for books, knowledge and music, friends or social engagements, family bonding, spiritual activities & associations.
However some are non transferable soul characteristics that have nothing to do with biological parents or children. Also many orphans or single parent children may raise, tame, polish, mellow, season, unlearn, relearn and thrive themselves out of survival instinct.
It's natural that every parent's dream is to want to give their children the privileges they didn't get and want them to achieve what they couldn't.
Many parents want their kids to do it all.
Being emotionally nurtured in stability is their bare minimum birth right, being pressured with unreasonable aggressive demands in anxiety and chaos isn't.
When you set the bar of high expectations with your kids, make sure you stand tall in some if not all of those yourself.
Your addictions, weaknesses, aggression, ego, attachments, communication, fears or self control, restraint, resilience and emotional intelligence are teaching your children more than society exposure.
Education, degrees, accolades, wealth and the profession of your child doesn't reflect the quality of your upbringing or parenting. Their mental stability, emotional security, kindness, humility, ability to cope and behave well with others under pressure does.
