1. Birth and Childhood: Mata Sati was born as the daughter of King Daksha and Queen Prasuti. She was a devout follower of Lord Shiva from an early age and had an intense desire to marry him.

2. Marriage to Lord Shiva: Despite her father's disapproval, Mata Sati's devotion towards Lord Shiva remained unwavering. Eventually, she performed severe penance to please him, and impressed by her devotion, Lord Shiva accepted her as his consort and they got married.

3. Daksha's Yagna: King Daksha organized a grand yagna (sacrificial ceremony) but deliberately did not invite Lord Shiva. Mata Sati, feeling deeply hurt and insulted by her father's actions, decided to attend the yagna without Lord Shiva's permission.

4. Self-immolation: At the yagna, Mata Sati was unable to bear the derogatory remarks made by her father towards Lord Shiva. Overwhelmed by grief and anger, she immolated herself in the sacrificial fire.
