7 yr old child brought by parents with history of difficulty in swallowing. Xray was done on admission. It showed round opacity in chest region. Emergency endoscopy was done, showed round structure in mid esophagus (food pipe) . Endoscopic removal was done. Child started on oral food on same day and was discharged safely in day.

Today’s case : case of obstructive jaundice. Multiple stones in bile duct . Patient underwent therapeutic endoscopy ( ERCP) . Interesting thing is shape of stones. Stones appear like jaggery.

78 yr, old gentleman came to hospital with pain abdomen. Blood test and MRI abdomen showed abnormal liver function tests and dilated Bile duct (small pipe which brings liver secretions to intestine. Patient was taken up for advanced therapeutic endoscopy called Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreaaticography (ERCP). Following images showed interesting finding which is outpouching of intestine compressing on Bile duct also called Lemmel syndrome. Patient underwent uneventful procedure and abnormalities in his blood tests improved over next few days.

18 yr old with history of ingestion of metallic ring, pen cap and nail was brought to hospital. Xray confirmed location in stomach. Patient was taken for endoscopy and removal. Endoscopic removal was done without any complications. Major abdominal surgery was averted and patient is completely fine. Started on diet same day of procedure.

Hello everyone, Myself Dr. Abhijeet Karad. I'm a Gastroeneterologist.
Today sharing a case of 1 yr old girl who had presented to hospital with alleged history of foreign body ingestion. She was referred from two different hospitals for further management. After initial clinical examination and tests she was taken for endoscopic treatment. Foreign body (small toy) was removed from esophagus (i.e. food pipe) endoscopically. After few hours of procedure girl was able to take food from mouth.

Advice for parents - keep smaller things away from reach of children and especially anything that has button batteries. Can cause catastrophic complications
