“5 Signs Your Mind Won’t Let You Be Happy”
Dr. Apoorva Selvaraj, Psychiatrist at Jagruti Rehabilitation Centre, explores the subtle thought patterns that can make it hard to truly enjoy life—even when everything seems fine on the outside.

Happiness isn’t just about external success or positive events. Sometimes, your own mind becomes the biggest barrier. In this insightful video, Dr. Selvaraj shares five common signs that may indicate your mindset is unintentionally blocking your happiness.

Sign 1: You dismiss good things as luck or temporary.
That raise? “They must’ve felt bad for me.”
That compliment? “They’re just being nice.”

Sign 2: You can’t enjoy the present because you’re waiting for the next problem.
Even on vacation, your mind’s already at work… worrying about what comes next.

Sign 3: You’re stuck in ‘all or nothing’ thinking.
One bad day = “I’ve ruined everything.”

Sign 4: You beat yourself up more than you build yourself up.
You call yourself lazy instead of tired. Weak instead of overwhelmed.

Sign 5: You feel guilty for feeling good.
You smile, then question if it’s okay to be happy.

If any of this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. With the right support, these patterns can change. Therapy can help you unlearn self-sabotage and cultivate a mindset that welcomes happiness, free from guilt and fear.

Addiction often begins as a small escape—a way to cope with stress, boredom, or difficult emotions. Over time, however, it can subtly take over your thoughts, dictate your routines, and strain relationships before you even realize it. When an activity or substance starts controlling how you feel or how you spend your time, it’s a signal to pause and examine what’s happening:

* Persistent Cravings: You find yourself thinking about it throughout the day, planning around when you can next indulge, or feeling restless until you do.
* Secretive Behavior: You catch yourself hiding your usage from friends or family, making excuses, or feeling ashamed about how much time or money you’re devoting to it.
* Failed Attempts to Stop: You’ve tried to cut back or quit but feel powerless when cravings hit. Each “just one more time” becomes harder to resist.
* Negative Impacts on Health and Relationships: You notice changes—sleep disturbances, mood swings, physical discomfort—or loved ones express concern about how your behavior is affecting shared responsibilities, intimacy, or trust.

If you recognize any of these signs, know that admitting it out loud is not a weakness but a courageous step toward reclaiming control. Acknowledging these questions in yourself is the first milestone on the path to recovery.

Watch, reflect, and take the first step toward healing.

They live among us, yet their struggles remain unseen. Swipe through to uncover the truths of schizophrenia and challenge the misconceptions:

1️⃣ It’s not just in their head: Schizophrenia is a complex condition affecting thought, emotion, and behavior—not a personal weakness.
2️⃣ The weight of stigma: Prejudice and isolation make recovery even harder.
3️⃣ Hope & recovery: With the right treatment and support, fulfilling lives are possible.
4️⃣ Symptoms demystified: Hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking, negative symptoms.
5️⃣ Personal stories: Listening breaks barriers and builds empathy.
6️⃣ Dispelling myths: Most people with schizophrenia are not violent—they’re more often victims.
