At Dr. Prakash Kalmadi’s 2nd death anniversary memorial, a guest of KARE, Branka Srenger, shared a heartfelt recollection of his warmth and simplicity. 🌿✨
She spoke of how Dr. Kalmadi had a unique way of making healing feel effortless, taking people for quiet drives, showing them the dam, the flowing water, the lake… teaching them that nature itself is medicine. 🚗💧🌾
She reminded us that KARE stands today on his vision, a vision carried forward with pride, purpose, and deep gratitude.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the memories, wisdom, and legacy Dr. Kalmadi left behind. 🙏✨

At Dr. Prakash Kalmadi’s 2nd death anniversary memorial, Rabab Wereda, a guest of KARE, shared a heartfelt reflection on his quiet, unwavering kindness. 🌿✨
She reminded us that some people don’t speak their goodness, they live it. Through small, thoughtful gestures, through care offered without expectation, through generosity that asked for nothing in return.
Every corner of KARE still carries that softness, a living reflection of the kindness he brought into the world. 💛
Thank you to everyone who joined us in honouring the gentleness, grace, and legacy he left behind. 🙏✨

At Dr. Prakash Kalmadi’s 2nd death anniversary memorial, we were honoured to hear Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan share his memories and admiration for his dear friend. He spoke of Dr. Kalmadi as a pioneering mind, a practicing allopathic doctor who had the courage to enter Ayurveda at a time when it was neither easy nor widely accepted.
Hearing these words from Dr. Patwardhan carries profound meaning. A National Research Professor, globally recognised biomedical scientist, former UGC Vice Chairman, and one of the most influential voices in evidence-based Ayurveda, his contributions have shaped research, policy, and the global understanding of integrative health. With over four decades of leadership, international advisory roles, pioneering research in Ayurvedic biology and genomics, and more than 200 scientific publications, he remains a guiding force in bringing scientific rigour and respect to India’s traditional knowledge systems.
To Dr. Patwardhan, KARE was not just a retreat but a courageous concept, one he witnessed in its earliest days in 1999-2000. He recalled how Dr. Kalmadi built this space with “new energy, new passion, new compassion, and new care,” creating an oasis for healing long before integrative wellness became mainstream.

At the memorial event honouring the 2nd death anniversary of Dr. Prakash Kalmadi, we were deeply moved by the words of Dr. Roli Rangappa, someone who has witnessed KARE’s journey from the inside for more than two decades.
She spoke of Dr. Kalmadi with profound affection: “Every corner of KARE whispers his presence, his footsteps, his discipline, his gentle smile… his unwavering belief in healing.” She reminded us that he didn’t merely build a centre, he breathed life into it. He didn’t just treat patients, he served souls. Without ever preaching values, he lived them quietly, consistently, and wholeheartedly.
Dr. Roli shared how KARE still carries his spirit. The empathy and dedication of our doctors, yoga teachers, therapists, the love with which every guest is cared for, all reflect the ethos he lived by. And even now, when challenges arise, she said, “We close our eyes and ask ourselves, what would he have done?” The answers continue to come through memory, intuition, and the love he left behind.
Through this, she reminded us that what happens at KARE is not just treatment, it is transformation, dignity restored, confidence rebuilt, and the ability to live fully once again. This is how his legacy not only lives, but grows.

It’s been two years since Dr. Prakash Kalmadi left us, yet his presence is felt in every stone, every tree, and every quiet corner of KARE. 🌿
In her heartfelt tribute, Poonam Kalmadi reflected on her father , a man who didn’t run KARE, he lived it. What began 26 years ago with nothing but faith and a bold belief that Ayurveda, Yoga, and Nature can truly heal has grown into a living ecosystem of care. Long before wellness became a trend, he envisioned a space where people could come home to themselves. He didn’t just build a centre, he built a tradition, a rhythm, and a way of life that continues to guide us.
KARE remains what Dr. Kalmadi dreamt it to be: a space where lives change, where nature heals, where the body remembers balance, and where the mind finds rest. A place built on devotion, preserved with love, and carried forward with purpose. 💛
We continue this journey with gratitude, for his legacy, for our guests, and for everyone who continues to believe in the vision he began.

Ever wondered why your mind feels like it’s running faster than your life?
Those racing thoughts, restlessness, and sleepless nights are not “just stress” in Ayurveda, they’re signs of Vata imbalance.
🌀 When Vata is disturbed
The mind becomes overactive.
Thoughts speed up.
Anxiety builds.
Stillness feels impossible.
Ayurveda understands this. And heals from the root, not by suppressing symptoms, but by grounding and stabilizing the mind-nervous system.
🌿 How Ayurveda Calms a Vata-Aggravated Mind
✨ Warm, calming therapies that soothe the nervous system
🌱 Herbal support like Ashwagandha & Brahmi
🥣 Nourishing Vata-balancing meals & daily routines
🧘 Breathwork & meditation that anchor the mind
Because sometimes, healing anxiety isn’t about “trying to relax”,
it’s about supporting a mind that is simply moving too fast.
At KARE, Mulshi, we help slow down racing thoughts, build emotional resilience, and help you feel grounded again naturally, gently, and deeply.

At KARE, our mission is to change lives. You don’t have to live with chronic pain, obesity, and lifestyle illnesses. Perfect health is attainable. The KARE approach to health is a participatory process wherein each guest takes an active part in his own healing process.
KARE has evolved through the inspired vision of Dr Prakash Kalmadi, a practitioner of western medicine for over three decades. Dr. Kalmadi experienced a life transforming turn around with his own health issues with the regular practice of Yoga and Ayurvedic treatments. He created an integrative process using scientific and authentic Kerala Ayurveda treatments, the precision of Iyengar Medical Yoga , principles of Ayurvedic food combinations and meditation. Nature also has the innate capacity to heal. Set atop a hill, KARE overlooks the quiet waters of the Mulshi Lake against a backdrop of flowers and greenery. A world of timeless beauty where you can forget your daily worries and just focus on your own rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.
Our guests are taught to recognise and conform to a lifestyle best suited to their body constitution which also includes a diet that heals. The entire process has an emphasis on the prevention of diseases as well as the cure of ailments.
KARE is a space where you begin a journey to rediscover and regain the healthy you. KARE empowers one to live a wholistic life that keeps the body constitution or ‘doshas’ balanced, aligns the body and mind and creates overall harmony.
The end of a guests’ stay at KARE is not the end of the journey but rather the beginning of a new life, fortified and empowered with subtle lifestyle changes to attain perfect health.
