"REVOLUTIONIZING KIDNEY CANCER TREATMENT

Dr. Himesh Gandhi recently delivered an insightful presentation at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, focusing on techniques to optimize outcomes in robot-assisted kidney-sparing surgeries. These procedures, particularly robotic partial nephrectomies, are integral in treating kidney cancer while preserving renal function. The hospital employs the advanced da Vinci Surgical System, which enhances surgical precision through miniaturized instruments and a high-definition 3D camera, allowing complex procedures via 1-2 cm incisions. 

The hospital’s multidisciplinary team approach ensures comprehensive care, involving uro-oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, onco-pathologists, and radiologists. This collaborative strategy aligns with global standards and has led to the management of over 250 kidney cancer cases in the past four years, with outcomes comparable to international benchmarks. 

Dr. Gandhi’s discussion emphasized the importance of surgical precision in robotic partial nephrectomies, which offer equivalent oncological control to open and laparoscopic approaches. First UROLIFT case of Africa by Ruby Hall Clinic.

On February 15, 2024, Ruby Hall Clinic made history in Tanzania by performing the Africa’s first UroLift procedure in collaboration with Shifa Panafrican Hospitals and Heameda Hospital, Byunju in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Under the guidance of Dr Dr Purvez Grant, A team from Ruby Hall Clinic, including Dr. Simon Grant, Mr. Urvaksh Bhote, Dr. Himesh Gandhi, and members of the Marketing Team, traveled to Dar es Salam, Tanzania to initiate this important collaborative partnership.
