Shastik Pinda/ Pinda Sweda (Hot fomentation by boiled rice):

Procedure:
Warm Medicinal oil is applied on affected part. Fomentation is done on affected part with rice cooked in herbal decoction, tied in a soft cloth and dipped in boiling medicated milk.

Uses:
Vata Pitta pradhan diseases, PCOD, Joint pain (Niram condition), Degenative Joint pathology, Osteo Arthritis, etc.

Patra Pottali (Hot fomentation by Herbal Leaves):

Procedure: Warm Medicinal oil is applied on affected part. Fomentation is done on affected part with herbs tied in a soft cloth and dipped in warm oil.

Uses: Vata Kapha pradhan diseases, PCOD, Joint pain, Some skin diseases, Joint swelling, Rheumatoid Arthritis, etc.

PS: It falls into Swedan category of panchakarmas.
