World Diabetes Day is every year on November-14 every year, to raise global awareness of diabetes, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting [who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922].
This year’s theme for World Diabetes Day 2024 is “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps."
The theme underpins International Diabetes Federation's commitment to reduce the risk of diabetes and ensure that all people diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable, and quality treatment and care. Addressing diabetes early and managing it well can ensure better quality of life to people with this disease.

Dietary faddism, or food faddism, is a term that describes a diet that's popular for a short time and based on an exaggerated belief in the effects of nutrition on health.

Fad diets are often considered pseudoscientific because they make claims about quick weight loss or health improvements without scientific evidence.
They may also involve eliminating essential food groups or eating certain foods in excess.

Some examples of food faddism include:
* Eating a very restrictive diet with few foods or an unusual combination of foods
* Only eating certain foods at certain times
* Exaggerating the benefits of certain foods, such as organic, health, or raw foods
* Exaggerating the harms of certain foods, such as sugar, white flour, or "junk food"
* Believing that an individual can diagnose and treat themselves, which can lead to harmful exaggerations.
