Hip replacement has come a long way, and robotic technology is revolutionizing the joint replacement surgery.
In the following video I have covered following main pointers of Hip replacement surgery :
1. Precision Planning – 3D CT scan technology helps us plan implant placement with millimeter accuracy.
2. Perfect Joint Recreation – Ensuring optimal leg length and restoring mobility.
3. Minimized Risk – Reduced chances of dislocation and impingement through advanced simulations.
4. Enhanced Patient Recovery – A smoother, more natural movement post-surgery.

With robotic assistance, we can customize the procedure for each patient, ensuring the best possible results.

At Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, we have successfully performed 200+ robotic joint replacement surgeries, ensuring greater accuracy, faster recovery, and improved patient outcomes.

This year marks the 10th International Day of Yoga with the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” This subject emphasises the double benefits of yoga practice: enhancing personal well-being and improving society at large. The theme recognises that inner serenity and self-care are the cornerstones of a happy and healthy existence. Yoga gives practitioners the skills to control their emotions, reduce stress, and develop self-awareness.

Wishing you a peaceful and balanced International Yoga Day!

Treating Avascular Necrosis (AVN): Options and Perspective

When patients visit clinic with Avascular Necrosis, one common misconception is that surgery is always the immediate answer. However, in the early stages of treatment, surgery may not be necessary. In early stages medicinal remedies like calcium and vitamin D3 supplements, along with bisphosphonates medication, have worked for 30-40% of cases.

Extreme pain may lead to stem cell treatment for some, but it's effective in about 30% of stage 1 or early stage 2 AVN cases. Patients can lead normal lives, managing pain with painkillers. Surgery becomes an option if strong painkillers don't help, especially when hip joint cartilage is damaged, impacting daily life.

Hip Replacement surgery is a simple and effective solution when the AVN patients cannot control the pain through medicines. Surgery helps in giving a pain-free future.

🔬 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬: 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬

📢 Today I want to shed light on avascular necrosis (AVN), a complex condition that affects bone health.

1️⃣ 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲: AVN occurs when the blood flow to a bone is disrupted, leading to bone damage and deterioration. While the exact cause remains unknown in approximately 50-60% of cases, several factors have been identified.

2️⃣ 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐔𝐬𝐞: Prolonged and high-dose steroid therapy is associated with an increased risk of AVN. Steroids can affect bone health and disrupt the delicate balance of bone remodeling, leading to diminished blood supply and subsequent bone damage.

3️⃣ 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Before the COVID era, excessive alcohol intake was a prominent cause of AVN. Alcoholism can impact bone health, impair blood flow, and compromise bone structure, making individuals more susceptible to AVN.

4️⃣ 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Certain medical conditions, such as sickle cell disease can increase the risk of AVN. These conditions may affect blood supply, leading to bone tissue damage.

By understanding these causes, we can enhance early detection, prevention, and personalized treatment strategies for AVN.

Let's continue to raise awareness, support research, and improve the lives of individuals affected by AVN.
