On the evening of April 6th, Sunday, the Ksh*tij Centre of Yog and Ayurved celebrated a remarkable 25-year journey of promoting Yog and Ayurved in Pune. The event attracted an enthusiastic response, with over 400 attendees, all of whom enjoyed the diverse program.
Teachers and students showcased a variety of asana performances, including Yog ballet, duos, trios, and group formations, demonstrating incredible flexibility, strength, balance, patience, and the beauty of asanas.
Indrayani Madam took the audience on a nostalgic journey, tracing the Centre's evolution from its early Yog classes at NIN to its expansion in the NIBM and Camp areas, culminating in the current facility on Salunkhe Vihar Road. This Centre boasts a spacious 4000 sqft area, featuring three well-equipped yoga halls, 15 dedicated teachers, and a thriving community of over 500 students across nine in-person batches and seven online batches. Additionally, there are two Panchakarma therapy rooms staffed by both female and male therapists.
Dr. Ksh*tija elaborated on the holistic treatment approach for the five sheaths of human existence through Yog and Ayurved, addressing various common, chronic, psychosomatic, and autoimmune disorders.
The event also featured Mr. Vijay Madhekar, Founder and Director of Thane Yog School, as the chief guest. He shared insights on the importance of Samatvam (equanimity) in life in an accessible manner. Special guests included Mrs. Sakina Bedi, spokesperson for NABH Jagruti School for Blind Girls, and Mrs. Nanda Lonkar, Ex-Corporator. They honored former students of Dr. Ksh*tija who became teachers and played a pivotal role in promoting Yog classes in the Centre's early days: Shubhangi Shirgurkar, Shantanu Chakraborty, Yogesh Shetty, Sanjay Ostawal, and Maria Partapurwala.
The program also included a demonstration of chair yoga performed by senior citizen students, followed by an advanced chair yoga presentation by the teachers. The event concluded with a captivating human tower formation, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
