Hello P**A. I am a homoeopathic physician. I keep getting a lot of queries from patients if conditions like PCOS, UTERINE FIBROID AND POLYP are cured by Homoeopathy. I first try to understand what they mean by cure. If they expect fibroids to disappear and polyps to fall off then this is unlikely to happen. PCOS can be maintained with homoeopathy and shows excellent results. Periods can be regularized, weight can be maintained with diet, exercise and medicines. Development of new cysts can be avoided. This helps in maintaining the fertility also. I see young girls as well as women responding well. I had a patient who has PCOS since her first period. Never had normal periods. She took hormonal therapy but her periods became irregular once she stopped it. She is doing very well on homoeopathy.
Fibroids and polyps can be reduced in size. New growths can be a stopped. Heavy bleeding and all the symptoms can be controlled. I have seen patients who are doing very well on homoeopathy and did not have to go in for surgery. But the treatment is decided on the USG report , on the size and type of growth.
Treatment goes on for a long time. Patience and regularity in taking the medicines is needed. Follow all the guidelines. So before going in for treatment
- Speak to the doctor and get all your queries answered
- Go with all your reports
- take the medicines regularly
- exercise and a healthy diet is a must in PCOS treatment.
When PCOS is under control, fibroid and polyp size reduces and surgery can be avoided its a great relief to the patient and a satisfying result for the doctor

This is the attitude every woman should have to beat POLYCYSTIC O***Y SYNDROME. Irregular periods, excessive hair growth, weight gain, acne and infertility are some of the symptoms of PCOS. Every women’s nightmare.
I see young teenage girls with complaints of irregular periods, blackening of skin and excessive hair growth and weight gain coming for homoeopathic treatment. The earlier you start your treatment the better your body responds. Maybe weight gain and acne are the driving factors for them to seek treatment. But the earlier you start the better it is to control PCOS.
Some wait till they have difficulty in conceiving. Some just don’t bother. Some leave the treatment midway. Yes, homoeopathic treatment is long, taking medicine three to for time a day for months is boring- but it works with no side effects. Over a period of time periods regularise, period pain reduces, acne disappear, facial hair growth reduces. Weight is kept in check with proper diet for PCOS and exercise. The ovarian cysts reduce. Ovulatory cycles regularize. Young girls are happy with the changes in the skin, young women are happy when their cycles regularize and weight is kept under check. Losing weight with diet and exercise also helps in increasing effectiveness of medicines and can help in infertility.
So, to beat PCOS:
- Identify your symptoms like irregular periods, weight gain etc.
- Seek treatment early
- Maintain a healthy diet. A low carbohydrate diet works best
- Exercise regularly. Even and hour of brisk walking will do
- Keep a positive attitude

DEPRESSION
Never did we ever think that we will experience a pandemic in our lifetime. We had read and learnt about the plague and the Spanish flu pandemics. But never imagined that we will go through the CORONA pandemic.
This has brought our lives to a standstill and we do not know what to do with it. CORONA is not only killing due to infection but also due to depression. A sudden break: a total full stop to our busy lives has left us with nothingness. People have lost their jobs, business has closed down, income has stopped, people are hungry and have no income. Not knowing what to do, helplessness has led to depression and suicides are increasing. Let’s call this the CORONA depression. Fear of infection, loss of income and uncertainty has led many to end their lives. Not all end their lives, some are still suffering silently. How do we help them? Life is too precious. How do we make them understand.
Friends seek help. Talk to someone you trust. If there is no one, reach out to professionals. Seeking help of a therapist is not shameful but it will help. Keeping silent only causes more harm. There is no shame in talking to a therapist. There is a taboo about consulting one but keep in mind they are there to help you see life in a better life. You need not be medicated but might see life in a better light. I do see a few in my practice. Glad to see them reaching out to help. Glad to know they are ready to make a new beginning.
Things are opening up now, lockdown is relaxing but the CORONA threat is not over. Wear masks, maintain social distance, wash you hands, be careful- time for a new beginning with caution

DEPRESSION
What is depression. The dictionary meaning of depression is a feeling of unhappiness that lasts for a long time. Medically it is defined as an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts, that affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself and the way one things about things.
Is it really so simple? Ask people in depression to define it. They will say it’s the end of the world, it’s like they have nothing to live for, aimless life, noting to look forward to, nothing to live for. I thought of taking this topic up for discussion because recently I have been coming across a lot of depression cases in the age group of 16 to 30 or maybe even younger. Why this depression in this age group? An age of exploring thing, discovering, learning educating, trying to be independent, finding their way in the world. Isn’t it exciting? Apparently not for them.
Just came across a young boy of 20 whom I know for the past 7-8 years. A bright young intelligent boy from a very well to do family. Got into a prestigious college. I met him after 2 years. Knew he would be in his third year so asked him about his college. He said – aunty I have taken a sabbatical. I was shocked. Did not know we could take a sabbatical in the middle of college. A boy with a bright future now had no sparkle in his eyes. On inquiring further came to know he is under treatment for depression. Cause – clueless about life. This is just one such case. I have come across many more as I am in touch with that age group. I wanted to learn and find out why this is so common in this age group and decided to do some research of my own. I found this beautiful clip on face book by Simon Sinek- Simon Sinek on the millennial Generation. Posting it here for anybody who has missed it. Any inputs n this millennial mind is welcome. Would like to understand this problem so that I can help in any form. This bright generation with al, the opportunities at their feet is suffering silently. Why? Is what Simon Sinek said true.
