𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
The 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 “𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦”, held on 𝟏𝟖 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐒𝐈𝐇𝐒), 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐞, was an insightful and engaging learning experience for MBA-HHM students.
The session focused on the growing importance of 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐄𝐒𝐆) 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 in shaping resilient, ethical, and future-ready healthcare systems.
We were privileged to have 𝐌𝐫. 𝐍𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡, 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐰𝐂, as the resource person for the workshop. With his rich industry experience, he provided practical insights into how sustainability and ESG frameworks are being integrated into healthcare decision-making, operations, and long-term strategy.
We were honoured by the presence of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐉𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐯 Director, Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences, who emphasised the importance of sustainable, responsible healthcare practices and inspired students to champion ESG-driven innovation in the modern healthcare system.
A key highlight of the workshop was the 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, which offered students a real-world perspective on ESG implementation, stakeholder accountability, and sustainable business practices. This was followed by an𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐒𝐆, thoughtfully conducted by Mr. Singh, encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and application of ESG concepts in healthcare contexts.
The session successfully enhanced students’ understanding of:
ESG frameworks and sustainability in healthcare
Corporate responsibility and ethical governance
Real-world application of ESG through case studies
Analytical and discussion-based learning approaches
Workshops like these reflect SIHS’ commitment to building informed professionals, strengthening competence, and preparing future healthcare leaders to align clinical excellence with sustainability and social responsibility.
A special note of gratitude to Prof. (Dr) Kasturi Shukla, Head of Department, and faculty Members Prof. (Dr) Lalit Ingale, Prof. (Dr) Shrikrishna Dhale, Prof. (Dr) Meenal Kulkarni, Prof. (Dr) Neha Ahire, and Prof. (Dr) Apoorva Bhatnagar were instrumental in making this workshop a success.
