We celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm at Navksh*tij.

The event featured a colourful parade and moving renditions of patriotic songs by our special friends.

The chief guest at the Talegaon unit was our vice president, Mr. C. E. Potnis. Our trustee, Mrs. Sujata Kulkarni graced the event at the Marunji unit. Everyone present was touched by the performances and the prevailing spirit of inclusion and patriotism.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.

Ganpati Bappa Morya!

On August 13, we organised a one-day Eco-Friendly Ganesh Murti-Making Workshop with the support of The Inner Wheel Club of Talegaon Dabhade.

Every year, Navksh*tij celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi at all our centres. Our special friends love to touch the Ganesh idol, their eyes filled with curiosity and devotion. This year, we decided to give them a unique opportunity — to create their own Ganesh murtis.

With shadu mitti in their hands, our special friends from the Talegaon unit expressed their devotion through creative art. For us, every idol is divine — a reflection of the pure hearts of our dear special friends. Their smiles after completion gave the feeling that God Himself was smiling back at us.

A thank you to The Inner Wheel Club for this meaningful collaboration and for making possible this special experience.

Celebrating Rakshabandhan with students from Alard University

On August 8, students from Alard College of Pharmacy visited Navksh*tij to celebrate Rakshabandhan with our special friends.

This heartwarming event is a beautiful result of our Community Awareness Programme for students. Alard College is located close to our Marunji campus and some of the students have attended an awareness session at Navksh*tij.
This year, they returned—not just with a thirst for expanding their knowledge, but with love and a desire to connect.

The students tied rakhis to every special friend, shared sweets and spent time creating a strong bond of friendship and care.

Seeing the new generation understand intellectual disability and the importance of rehabilitation for PwIDs fills us with great hope for a more inclusive future.

Sakhu Tai – Stretching beyond Caregiving*

All our special friends lovingly call her "Tai" because she takes care of them like an elder sister. For the last 12+ years, Sakhu Tai has taken care of our girls with so much love, just like a sibling. She understands their needs, gives them confidence and helps them feel safe and happy.

Many parents, especially those of girls with intellectual disabilities, feel worried about sending their daughters to a residential home. But when they visit Navksh*tij, see the happy faces of our girls and meet a dedicated caregiver like Sakhu Tai, their worries begin to dissipate. They feel confident that their daughters will be safe, well cared for and happy at Navksh*tij.

Sakhu Tai plays an important role in the daily life of our female PwIDs — from helping with personal care and daily routine, to motivating them to join treks and other extracurricular activities. She even supports doctors during medical check-ups. Her presence makes a big difference.

We truly appreciate her dedication, hard work and the love she gives to every girl at Navksh*tij. She is one more hero in our journey.

*Friendship Day with TCS *

यह फ्रेंडशिप डे हमारे लिए हमेशा यादगार रहेगा..." – Team TCS

On August 2, we had the pleasure of welcoming more than 50 employees from TCS. Their visit was planned eight days in advance, along with a donation campaign for our special friends.

Interestingly, their visit aligned perfectly with Friendship Day! We quickly organised a celebration, where our special friends joyfully tied friendship bands to every member of the TCS.

The team felt very happy after spending time with our special friends. They said this Friendship Day will always be a special and sweet memory for them.

Thank you, TCS, for your continued support!

From Curiosity to Connection – A Meaningful Internship
A month ago, Dimpal Sharma, a student of Media and Mass Communication from D.Y. Patil College, joined Navksh*tij as an intern. On her first day, she walked in with curiosity-and a little uncertainty-unsure of how we work and what intellectual disabilities truly mean.

Over the course of her internship, Dimpal formed strong bonds with our special friends. For the first two weeks, she fully immersed herself in our workshop activities. Later, she began contributing to our social media content with equal passion.
Throughout the month, Dimpal worked with dedication, empathy, and openness. We hope this experience not only contributes to her career development but also brings meaningful growth in her personal life.

Wishing her all the best for the journey ahead!

Happy Friendship Day!

Friendship, camaraderie, love and joy are the foundation of everything that we do at Navksh*tij. We have introduced the beautiful concept of Special Friends for our resident PwIDs, where friendship and peer group bonding play a key role. Peer group tutoring not only supports learning but also helps reduce behavioural challenges.

We are committed to creating a positive, friendly environment for every special friend — just like a big, caring family.

Today, we celebrated Friendship Day at both our units. Our special friends were all smiles as they exchanged friendship bands and shared joyful moments together.

Happy Friendship Day!

Nagpanchami Celebration

On July 29, we celebrated Nagpanchami at both Navksh*tij units!

The day before, our special friends enjoyed applying beautiful mehendi designs on their hands with the help of our caregivers.

On Nagpanchami, everyone wore new clothes, enjoyed playing on the swings, partook of a festive lunch and created plenty of happy moments together.

It was a joyful and colourful day directed by tradition, bonding in togetherness and filled with smiles!!
