We were honoured to host Dr. Allan Gross—a pioneer in bone and cartilage transplantation, author of over 260 publications, and a Member of the Order of Canada—at Sancheti Hospital, Pune.

During his visit, Dr. Gross delivered a deeply personal and reflective talk, “Journey of 30 Years,” offering our team a rare window into a life dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for patients. This was followed by an engaging and intensive case discussion that brought together some of the finest orthopaedic minds.

Dr. Allan Gross also visited the Surgical Skills Centre at Sancheti Hospital which he was amazed to see.

It was a true privilege to welcome Dr. Javad Parvizi to Sancheti Hospital. Dr. Parvizi is one of the world’s most celebrated arthroplasty surgeons. He has performed over 25000 joint replacements. He also has more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications to his credit.
His work in Peri prosthetic joint infections is path breaking and revolutionary. Dr. Parvizi’s current work on Biome and Genome concepts will change the approach towards not only peri prosthetic joint infections but also other conditions like osteo arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis…..
Dr. Javad Parvizi is currently based at Acibadem Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey where he successfully conducted the International Consensus meeting on Infection.
His visit was everything we had hoped for and more—an inspiring session with our residents, an insightful case-based discussion with consultants, a walkthrough of our wards, and a visit to the Sancheti Healthcare Academy. The day concluded with a meaningful research discussion, laying the foundation for an exciting and promising partnership ahead.
We look forward to our collaboration with Dr Javad Parvizi to find out innovative solutions for Indian patients with osteoarthritis so as to optimize their recovery.

The recently concluded 19th National Congress of the Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons, held at JW Marriott Pune, was a resounding success with 800+ delegates and 125 faculty members.

It was an academic feast over three days of learning, debating, and advancing hip & knee arthroplasty with leading national and international experts.

I had the privilege of moderating a session on *Mobility Without Fragility* with Dr. Rafael Sierra (Mayo Clinic), discussing how Partial Knee Replacement can restore function in arthritic knees. I also presented *“My Journey of Total Knee Replacement – Lessons Learned & Mistakes to Avoid,”* which was well appreciated, especially by younger delegates.

From Re-Live Surgeries and Masterclasses to *Breakfast with Champions* and a memorable Gala Dinner — ISHKS 2026 truly embodied *Precision, Proficiency & Progress*, the theme of President Dr. H.P.C. Khincha.

A standout moment was the inspiring talk by Gaur Gopal Das on handling challenges and maintaining work-life balance. The doctors’ orchestra from B.J. Medical College and performances by senior surgeons added a vibrant touch to the evening.

Grateful to the entire organizing team and leadership for making this event a grand success.

On the occasion of World Health Day, it was a matter of great pride for Sancheti Hospital to host the Sancheti Nursing Leadership Summit — a dedicated platform for the exceptional nurse leaders of Pune.
Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system — not just as caregivers, but as leaders who influence patient outcomes, drive quality, and shape the culture of care. As healthcare continues to evolve, empowering nursing leadership is no longer optional; it is essential.
This summit was envisioned as a space to exchange ideas, strengthen leadership capabilities, and collectively reimagine the future of patient-centric care. The energy, insights, and commitment demonstrated by the participants truly reaffirmed the critical role nurses play in building resilient healthcare systems.

It was a pleasure for me to be a part of the Global Knee Summit from 22nd - 24th January, 2026 at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Dubai.
It was a honor to Co Chair this meeting with Dr. Kevin Plancher. I also wish to thank Co Chairs Dr. Brian Lau, Dr. Mark Lee and Dr. Majd Marrache for their contribution to make the Global Knee Summit a resounding success.
Also it was privilege to meet stalwarts like Dr. Rene Verdonk, Dr. Ramon Cugat, Dr. Philippe Neyret, Dr. Elizaveta Kon, Dr. Javad Parvizi, Dr. Adolph Lombardi, Dr. David Mayman, Dr. Daniel Grande, Dr. Stephen Howell, Dr. Peter Sharkey amongst others at this meeting. Got an opportunity to discus with these world authorities on nuances of Knee Arthroplasty and Knee Arthroscopy.
I am sure this meeting will go a long way in imparting better patient care for our patients.

Recently concluded Pune Regional Anaesthesia Course 2026 conducted at Hotel Orchid was a resounding success.With more than 15 national and international faculty members and over 175 delegates, the course provided valuable academic insights and greatly enriched the participants’ knowledge, particularly in enhancing their regional anaesthesia skills.
It was an honour for me to be part of the inauguration and the Excellence Award ceremony.
I was especially pleased to learn about Dr. Pradnya Sawant, who was conferred the PRAC Award for Excellence in recognition of her remarkable service at Wadia Hospital for over 30 years. Despite her many accomplishments, Dr. Sawant remains extremely humble, down-to-earth, and approachable.
My sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Sancheti Anaesthesia Team for their dedication and meticulous efforts in ensuring that PRAC 2026 was conducted seamlessly.

Kudos to Dr. Mukesh Laddha for organising the Young Arthritic Knee (YAK) Conference 2026, held at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur.
With more than 300 delegates attending, this meeting was a resounding success.
This conference was organised by the RL Medical Foundation in association with the Vidarbha Orthopaedic Society and the Arthroscopy Society Nagpur. The meeting centred around the theme “Conserve, Preserve and Replace.” The conference offered a comprehensive academic platform covering the entire spectrum of managing the young arthritic knee.
The sessions ranging from basics to advanced concepts in arthritis management were particularly valuable for budding orthopaedic surgeons, providing them with practical insights and decision-making strategies for managing complex knee conditions.’
It was very interesting to lead the panel discussion on ‘How I manage YAK in my OPD’ & ‘ACL Reconstruction Surgery– Current Trends’. I was also invited by Smith & Nephew to inaugurate their new launch Journey II Unicondylar knee.
We also organised an evening CME and panel discussion on & ‘ACL Reconstruction Surgery– Current Trends’. I enjoyed meeting our SIOR Alumni members Dr.Hrishikesh Raut, Dr. Atul Tembhurne, Dr. Neha Godghate, Dr.Ninad Godghate, Dr. Nikhil Malewar & Dr. Kuldeep Deshpande.

I wish to place on record my sincere thanks to Dr. Girish Motwani for graciously launching our Book on Arthroscopy at the Global Foot & Ankle Summit 2026.
It was indeed a great honour and privilege to unveil this book in front of a packed hall of more than 500 delegates, making the moment even more special for all of us associated with this academic effort.
This book on Arthroscopy has been authored by Dr. Sachin Kale and Dr. Sandeep Deore, who have put in tremendous effort to compile valuable insights and practical knowledge for the arthroscopy community.
We are confident that this book will go a long way in imparting knowledge, strengthening fundamentals, and helping arthroscopy surgeons enhance their skills and clinical practice.
The book will also be available at a special reduced price for all delegates attending the Global Foot & Ankle Summit 2026.
