COMPOSITE
So Composite Restorations are so called the "Bread and Butter" of Dentists. But to be completely honest, they have always scared the hell out of me. Since college days, I felt amalgam was a nightmare...the proximal box, dove tails, flat pulpal floor...Pheww!! Once I entered Clinical Practice, it was all about the Composites and OMG I was even more scared of it than I could ever be of Amalgam..coz to be honest, me as a Pedodontist..I love my GIC's.
The kind of beautiful work I see on social media by Dentists around the world intimidated me so much. Somehow I could never really carve anything so beautiful in my life, right from a wax block to amalgam and composites felt like a nightmare. My confidence was a bit shaken. I thought only a handful who are good artists can manage beautiful looking composite restorations. I was questioning everything I did, my skills, my love for the subject and my entire degree on worst days..coz somewhere deep down I knew I wasnt doing justice to my restorative work.
So anyway coming to the point...I decided to overcome my fear of composite restorations...I told myself if so many people can do...so can you. The Universe works in mysterious ways..After a few days a friend suggested I do this course on Direct Composite Restorations.
The course conducted in Mumbai at Dr. Rajiv Verma's Dental Center powered by Skillodontics by Dr. Vishal Gupta oh...what a weekend it has been.
Two days of intense session of learning, lectures, hands-on, interactive teaching, constant encouragement, inspiration and some world class teaching. Dr. Vishal us one of the most vibrant personality I have met in a long time. The patience and zeal with which he teaches took my confidence a notch higher. The passion with which he speaks about composites and dentistry inspired me to raise my own bar of work and stay away from mediocrity. Dr. Vishal made me realise why I loved dentistry in the first place and through his teaching once again I'm inspired to be better everyday and I believe that through hard work, patience, perserverence and consistency I can achieve what anything Idesire in Life...even a Class II Restoration😜
