There was loss of space in between two teeth due to fractured old restorations.
And small gap was present, which caused food lodgement and irritation.

Sometimes small things get ignored in the wake of bigger issues.

In this case, lower 1st molar have a huge cavity and needed root canal treatment.

When the tooth was shaped to receive a crown, a small brown spot was noted on the tooth behind.

If this brown spot is ignored, it will hidden under the adjacent cap and within few months, lead to pain and bigger cavity, thereby leading to new root canal treatment.
