About Dr Yogesh Chougule :-
After completing post graduation in ophthalmology from MUHS university, DR Yogesh Chougule completed long term Cornea and Microsurgery fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry. During fellowship he trained for Corneal Transplant Surgeries, Ocular surface disorders, management of Keratoconus, Ocular trauma and management of Corneal infections.

M.B.B.S. from Goverment Medical College, Miraj, Maharashtra
Diploma in Ophthalmology from Armed Foreces Medical College, Pune.
DNB (Delhi Board) Ophthalmolgy from PBMA's H V Desai Eye Hospital, Pune.
F.A.E.H.(Cornea and Microsurgery) (18 months) from Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry.

He worked as a Cornea fellow for Eighteen months at Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry. Aravind Eye Hospital is a tertiary care referral center in INDIA, recognized by the National Board Of Examinations (NBE) in New Delhi and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London for Basic Specialist Training (BST). It is a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating center for prevention of Blindness. His surgical exposures during this period had strong emphasis on management of various Corneal and Ocular surface disorders. Also he performed many cataract surgeries like Small incision Cataract extraction and Phacoemulsification with IOL implantation during this period.
He was involved in teaching Small Incision Cataract Surgery and Phacoemulsification to residents and practicing ophthalmologists from various parts of INDIA.
Currently he is working as a Consultant Cornea Services & Adult Cataract Consultant at National institute of Ophthalmology, Pune since August 2016. Till date he has done around 8, 000 Cataract Surgeries.
Till date he has done more than 500 Corneal transplant surgeries (Keratoplasty), 2000+ Pterygium surgeries and managed more than 1000 open globe injuries.
Surgical Skills
He has done around 8, 000 of Cataract Microsurgeries in last few years.
He is comfortable in doing minimally invasive Topical Clear Corneal Phacoemulsification with foldable intraocular lens implantation.
He is able to perform all the techniques of Phaco e.g. Divide and Conquer; Stop and Chop, Direct Chop, Horizontal and Vertical Chop.
Over the years he has developed special interest in doing Complicated Cataract Surgeries e.g. Traumatic Cataract, Subluxated Cataract, Cataract in Small Pupil with Posterior Synechiae, Cataract with Pseudoexfoliation, Hypermature Cataract and Intumuscent Cataract.
Cornea and anterior segment surgeries
Till date he has done more than 500 Corneal transplant surgeries (Keratoplasty), He has also performed several combined Corneal transplant and cataract surgeries.
As a Cornea and Ant segment specialist his area of interest is in minimaly invasive and sutureless lamellar keratoplasties like DSEK, Ultra-thin DSEK, DMEK and DALK.
He has performed more than 2000 Pterygium surgeries (sigle head, double head, recurrent Pterygium)
He has managed more than 1000 complex open globe injuries tiss date.
He has managed several patients with various severity of keratoconus, patients with post refractive surgery ectasia
He has successfully treated many cases of Corneal ulcers, contact lens associated keratitis and viral keratoconjuctivitis.
During his long term fellowship at Aravind eye hopsital he was trained in managing verious degrees of dry eye syndrome and computer vision syndrome.
