Impacted canine is a permanent canine tooth that fails to erupt into dental arch at expected time.
Patient is 11 years old, due to lack of space, canine was not erupted into its position.

We created spaces- in few months, it came closer to its normal site- then it is surgically exposed and orthodontic forces are applied for eruption.🦷
We exposed a small area just to bond attachment, not beyond CEJ - to achieve healthy gums after eruption.

But such situations in kids can be avoided:😵‍💫
- by regular orthodontic follow ups after the age 7.
- Taking first OPG (full mouth x ray) at age 7.
- Preventive orthodontics is always better for kids.
