Savitribai Phule Jayanti, observed every year on January 3rd, was celebrated today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, India’s first female teacher. This day is widely recognized across India as Women’s Education Day, honoring her pioneering role in advancing girls’ education and women’s empowerment.
A visionary social reformer, Savitribai Phule broke multiple social barriers to promote education among girls and marginalized communities, courageously challenging the deep-rooted discrimination of her time. Her life and work continue to symbolize strength, determination, and an unwavering commitment to equality.
As part of the observance, students delivered speeches highlighting Savitribai Phule’s life and contributions. A thought-provoking play titled “Aashayein” was enacted, portraying her journey and struggles. Students also presented Ovi, a rhythmic verse form from Marathi folk literature, narrating her life.
The event paid tribute to Savitribai Phule’s enduring legacy, which continues to inspire educators and learners. On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to her ideals of equity, inclusion, and equal access to quality education, guiding institutions toward gender equality and social justice.

A festive spirit filled the air on December 25, 2025, as a memorable Christmas Celebration was organized by the Cultural Club – Mélange and the newly elected Student Council, bringing the MIMER family together in joy and reflection. Centered on the true meaning of Christmas—the birth of Jesus Christ—the event inspired all to embrace His timeless teachings of compassion, love for one’s neighbor, and universal brotherhood.
Continuing a cherished annual tradition, students and faculty visited the Paediatric Ward to distribute cakes and gifts, spreading joy, comfort, and smiles, and offering the children a momentary respite from pain and distress.
Students and faculty later gathered in a spirit of reverence and togetherness, reflecting on the enduring values of love, kindness, and gratitude as the greatest gifts of the season. The atmosphere resonated with the harmonious strains of traditional carols, as voices united in singing “Joy to the World” and the cheerful rhythms of “Jingle Bells.” The decorated Christmas tree stood as a symbol of hope, joy, peace, a spirit of giving, and goodwill for the year ahead, beautifully reflecting the collective aspirations of the community and adding depth and meaning to the festivities.
More than just a celebration, the event served as a unifying experience—strengthening bonds and offering a meaningful pause to reflect on faith, fellowship, and compassion.

Reminiscence 2025, the Annual Alumni Meet, unfolded as a heartfelt celebration of memories brought alive by the alumni of the admission batch of 2000—fondly remembered as the Y2K batch. With over 80 alumni in attendance, the campus once again echoed with familiar laughter and shared stories, as many travelled across states and countries to return to the place where their journeys first began.
Walking through the campus, the alumni admired the remarkable infrastructural growth over the years, yet what touched them most was the unchanged warmth, spirit, and sense of home that the institution continues to radiate.
The gathering was graciously welcomed by our Executive Director, Dr. Suchitra Nagare, and Principal, Dr. Deepa Nair, whose words beautifully reflected the enduring bond between the institution and its alumni. It was a moment of pride for the faculty, witnessing the remarkable achievements of their alumni and seeing how their guidance and mentorship had shaped successful trajectories.
A special highlight of the event was the screening of video clips featuring treasured photographs. Each frame transported the audience back in time, stirring deep nostalgia and rekindling memories of friendships, classrooms, and milestones of their student days. They joyfully shared nostalgic anecdotes and unforgettable moments from their student years.
In a touching gesture of gratitude, the Y2K batch donated a digital screen to the college. The responsibility of carrying this legacy forward was then lovingly passed on to the representatives of the batch of 2001 for Reminiscence 2026.
The celebrations concluded with lively games and entertainment, adding yet another chapter of cherished memories.
The heartfelt efforts of the Alumni Association ensured that Reminiscence 2025 was not merely a reunion, but a true homecoming—rekindling bonds and reaffirming a lifelong connection with the alma mater.
“Some places leave an imprint on the heart—no matter how far life takes us”
