With gentle splashes of colour, shared smiles, and thoughtful care for one another, the celebration was safe, warm, and full of spirit. The festivities ended on a delightful note as everyone sat together to relish a traditional festive meal.

Moments like these remind us that celebrations are truly special when they are shared, with care, companionship, and a sense of belonging.

January at Rainbow Day Care Centre was truly a month of warmth, colour, and meaningful moments.

From fulfilling cognitive sessions that kept minds active and engaged, to colourful craft activities where our seniors joyfully made kites celebrating Makar Sankranti, every day brought its own sense of purpose. As we moved closer to 26th January, the centre bloomed with intricate flower-making activities in saffron, white, and green, reflecting creativity, patience, and pride.
We also celebrated January birthdays with smiles, laughter, and togetherness, because every milestone matters here. Behind the scenes, our team invested time in leadership-focused staff training, strengthening the care, empathy, and commitment we bring to our seniors every single day.

January reminded us that when learning, creativity, celebration, and care come together, ageing can truly be active, joyful, and dignified. 🌼

At Rainbow Day Care Centre we welcomed the New Year with our annual winter picnic, a day dedicated to joy, togetherness, and meaningful moments.

For our aajji–ajobas, care is about continuity, being supported by family and the day care centre alike. And while routines matter, so does celebration. The fun must go on, and the picnic must happen.

Laughter, shared meals, conversations, and simple pleasures made the day special, reminding us that staying engaged and connected is just as important as staying cared for.

This Christmas, Rainbow Day Care Centre celebrated warmth, joy, and togetherness by the bonfire.

Along with their regular routine at Rainbow, our aajji-ajobas took part in cognitive word exercises guided by our expert, the day unfolded into a cheerful and engaging celebration. Our seniors sang by the fire, shared laughter and jokes, played games, and danced with full enthusiasm.

We ended the evening with a lovely dinner together and heartfelt wishes for health, happiness, and many joyful returns of the day. Here are some glimpses for you.

At Rainbow Day Care Centre, the day bloomed with colour and participation as our members crafted big paper flowers together. 🌸

This simple paper craft activity encouraged movement, focus, and social interaction, supporting both mental and physical well-being. More than the final artwork, it was the shared energy, involvement, and joy in creating that truly mattered.

This was a positive reminder that staying active, engaged, and connected adds colour to everyday life.

This crafts session brought colours, focus, creativity, and big smiles to our senior citizens at Rainbow Day Care Centre!
Our aajji-ajobas took part in a beautifully intricate craft activity, an enjoyable exercise that was not only fun but also incredibly beneficial.
Engaging in fine craftwork helps enhance fine motor skills, cognitive sharpness, social interaction, emotional wellbeing, and focus, for example, creating an intricate craft work like this one, together encourages careful hand movements, creative problem-solving, shared conversations, and a calming sense of accomplishment.

At Rainbow, we believe in keeping our minds active, hands busy, and hearts happy, one meaningful activity at a time 💛

Keeping Mind & Body in Sync, acknowledging One Move at a Time at Rainbow Day Care Centre.

This session focused on enhancing eye–hand coordination, a vital skill that supports balance, cognitive alertness, fine motor control, and overall confidence in daily activities.
And what made it even more special?
The session was held outdoors, in the fresh air and warm sunlight, a refreshing change that our aajji-ajobas absolutely loved.
The activities were thoughtfully planned and smoothly facilitated by the determined students from the Geriatric Department of Savitribai Phule Pune University. Their energy, care, and preparedness brought wonderful warmth and meaning to the session.

We are driving for more such meaningful engagements, active ageing, and moments that nurture the body, mind, and heart.

In the gracious presence of our Chief Guest, Dr. Rohini Patwardhan, Gerontologist and Principal, MIT Junior College; Dr. Abhijit Pathak, Senior Interventional Cardiologist and Head of Cardiology, Swasthya Hospital, Ahmednagar; our Trustees, Mr. Anand Radkar and Mrs. Meghana Marathe; and our Founder Director, Mrs. Anuradha Karkare, the morning turned into a heartfelt celebration of purpose and community.

With over 350 attendees, our members, their families, friends, and well-wishers, the auditorium was filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude.

We are truly humbled by the love and support showered upon us as we continue our intent of creating a safe, engaging, and meaningful space for senior citizens.
