मेडिकल कॉलेज रायपुर छत्तीसगढ़ के अंतर्गत स्थित भीमराव अंबेडकर अस्पताल के हॉर्ट ,चेस्ट एंड वैस्कुलर सर्जरी विभाग में प्रदेश के शासकीय चिकित्सा संस्थान का प्रथम ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी किया गया।
यह दिन बहुत ही ऐतिहासिक है क्योंकि छत्तीसगढ़ के लोगों को खासकर उन लोगों के लिए जो ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी और बायपास सर्जरी का खर्च वहन नहीं कर पाते उनके लिए भविष्य में वरदान साबित होगा।
नवंबर 2016 से एस्कॉर्ट हार्ट सेंटर के अधिग्रहण के बाद अभी तक लगभग 700 चेस्ट , फेफड़े एवं खून की नसों के ऑपरेशन हो चुके हैं ।लगभग 3 साल बाद 14 जनवरी 2021 को मकर संक्रांति के दिन पहला सफल ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी संपन्न हुआ।

आज विश्व हृदय दिवस है ।इस दिवस को मनाने का उद्देश्य लोगों में अपने हृदय के प्रति जागरूक करना।
पूरे विश्व में 1 साल में हृदय रोग से मरने वालों की संख्या एक करोड़ 76 लाख है, जो कि अभी तक जो कोरोना में मरे हैं उससे भी कई गुना ज्यादा है। भारत में भी हर चार में से एक हार्ट का मरीज है। कोरोनेरी आर्टरी डिजीज जिसको सामान्य भाषा में इस्केमिक हार्ट डिजीज कहा जाता है, दक्षिण एशिया विशेषकर भारत में सबसे ज्यादा है। जिसके कारण हार्ट फैलियर के मरीज सबसे ज्यादा दक्षिण एशिया में ही मिलते हैं।
दिल की बीमारी ऐसी है जिसमें हम 60 से 70% तक रोकथाम कर सकते हैं ।जिसके लिए नियमित व्यायाम, उचित आहार ,कम नमक,सैचुरेटेड फैटी एसिड से परहेज ,फास्ट फूड से परहेज ,तंबाकू एवं अल्कोहल से परहेज, मधुमेह एवं रक्तचाप नियंत्रण एवं नियमित स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण शामिल है।

हृदय के अंदर स्थित ट्यूमर निकाला गया एवं वाल्व का रिपेयर किया गया ।
एक 52 वर्षीय व्यक्ति जिसको सांस में तकलीफ एवं तेज धड़कन की शिकायत थी उनका इकोकार्डियोग्राफी कराने से पता चला की उसके हृदय के अंदर ट्यूमर ( एक प्रकार का कैंसर) है और उसके हृदय के वाल्व ममे लीकेज है ।
उस व्यक्ति का ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी करके ट्यूमर निकाला गया एवं वाल्व को रिपेयर किया गया।

We have operated a very interesting case of a tumour from inside of the heart(intracardiac tumour).

A 52 yr old man came with severe breathlessness and palpitations .
Echo cardiography shows huge intracardiac tumour inside the left atrium and protruding in to the left ventricle .there is moderate mitral valve regurgitation and tricuspid valve regurgitation.
Tumour removed completely from the heart with the help of heart lung machine under cardiopulmonary bypass along with chordal repair of mitral valve by formation of neo chordae with the help of Gortex PTFE suture no.5.
After surgery Echo shows completely removal of tumour and no mitral regurgitation and tricuspid valve regurgitation.
Patient is fine and doing well.

Simultaneous surgery of radial artery aneurysm and creation of AV FISTULA.

This poor guy is suffering from chronic kidney disease. He needs regular dialysis for which AV fistula was created somewhere outside.
During dialysis he developed aneurysm of Radial artery at the anastomosis site(most dreaded complication of AV Fistula)
He came to ACI CTVS DEPT with impending rupture of aneurysm.

Operated nicely.

Aneurysm was excised, radial artery was repaired as well as new AV fistula(end to side anastomosis) created at same time .so that patient need not to wait for another AV fistula surgery.
He can use this AV fistula for dialysis within 10 days. Becoz cephalic vein was arterialized Nicely.
This is simple surgery but more satisfying for patient because he need not to wait for AV fistula maturation (45 days minimum) and no need to bear extra pain of second surgery. And importantly less money

Every cancer is curable in initial phase.

We did wide margin wedge resection of lower lobe of right lung & Hilar lymph nodes clearance in case of solitary lung mass through rt posterolateral thoracotomy around 10 cm long incision. Ethicon 3 layered linear lung stapler used for wedge resection.

Preferred over lobectomy.
Later on LN was negative
